    Sites down...what to expect?
There is a complicated problem with my webhost and so 3 of my sites have been down a WEEK! I am freaking out with this being the prime buying season.
So, it is a given that I have lost sales.
What other long term repercussions could there be for my sites being down? Will I be penalized in the SE's? I can imagine my long time customers think we have disappeared (which indeed we have), and potential new ones are thinking we are history as well.
Makes me just want to throw my hands up and let those sites fade away...sales were only just starting to come in on the newest one when this happened...
    Words of wisdom anyone?

Oh my! One week!! Ouch!! I'd have purchased a new hosting account the very day it went down. Especially if they didn't have things up and running again within an hour or two. You definitely need to get a new web host as soon as possible. There's a good chance some of your visitors will never come back after this. The search engine bots may remove some of your pages if they can't retreive them. I hope this doesn't put you back too much and maybe you'll end up with a better host because of it. Any host that allows their customers to go offline for a week should be dropped immediately!

    Good luck!

Some of the search engines may drop your ranking for a period if your site has been down for some time. I know Google does this for sure. It should eventually return to its original rankings but how long after I'm not sure.
