    RSS Readers & Publishers
Ok, I am going to try out the rss world and would like to know if all readers and publisher programs are the same?

Is there more than one developer/company of reader or publisher programs?

If you are using RSS what software are you using? Where did you get it?
Have you ever heard of spyware, adware, or other malicious buggies in realtionship with rss programs and/or feeds?

Looking forward to getting into this, just looking for pointers from those who have experience.

Are you looking to publish or read? If publish, check out my site. If read, do a google search on RSS reader. Lots of good ones out there.

So all readers & publishing RSS programs are NOT created equal?

    hmmmm...

Looks like I will have to do some research..which is fine

I was just hoping to get a little knowledge or some feedback from those who are using this powerful tool.

Guess ABWebbers have yet to really explore this.
I haven't, but thought some of the "inner circle" / long time posters had.

I'll report back when I have done some research (and after some testing later)

I use Sage for FireFox to read and an inhouse publisher for creating the RSS.

I like Sage because it is simple, light and doesn't take up half the screen with a bunch of junk like half the other readers tend to

    Cheers

For syndication and reporting I use a bunch of tools such as feedburner i.e.

    feeds.feedburner.com/AMWSO

As well as the likes of "RSS Submit" software - http://www.dummysoftware.com/rsssubmit.html

    Cheers

    Sage is way cool.
rss is nice quick way to get lots of info at a glance.

Thank you for your help guys.

A whole new world has opened up. It's like when I first discovered tabbed browsing. I can't live without that anymore and see rss being in the same arena. I'm excited about this "new" technology

added your feed Chris and WOW you got a lot of great stuff in there.

What are some strategies for making RSS work for affiliates? I have YahooFeedSeeker/2.0 constantly running through a Gallery set up thats for family. There must be a way to convert this kind of SE interest into profit on a commercial site.

I am using my.yahoo to get my RSS news. It was set up in Thunderbird but it was something that had to be cleaned out like email. This way is more like web mail.

ListGarden has a real nice free feed generator that I used once as an experiment and found it quiet easy.

I use the free FeedReader (GPL liscense) which has a nice interface and is easy to use. You can input or just cut'n'paste in new RSS URLS and when new headlines for that topic/URL is available, a little popup box shows the new headlines - you click on a headline to read the story. I track Yahoo news, Gadget news, etc. easily - you can set up as many topics/feeds as you wish.

RSS Readers & Publishers is a topic I could use some help in!

Do webmasters only syndicate blogs or are the regular web pages being syndicated as well?

How does one design one's web page so that RSS publication will be attractive?
