1/3/06 The End of an Era or at least a year.
EDITED TO ADD CALL IN NUMBER -> 1-866-345-6631

1/3 will be my last radio show broadcast. It's really a shame that more didn't step up, well now thieves and carpal tunnelists get it. I guess apathy is the killer here.

If you wanna be on the show, for whatever reason - even to curse me out, PM me or I'll post the "call in number" for those who want to call in.

    Yeah even you Chris Parks.

    =========
    Disclaimer
    =========

I did the show for free - never accepted a dime, nor asked for one from any guest of my shows. That policy may change now with the new hosts, but ABW will not advertise it in any manner henceforth.

Continued Success Daron, Brandy and Mark (my producer).

Gee, that's a shame Haiko. Although I don't know who the carpal tunnelists might be. As usual I'm confused!

Here's a thought for the final broadcast. Howzabout an ABW talent show?

    Sorry to hear that, Haiko.
You did a great job and I was a frequent listener.
I guess telling the truth about affiliate marketing don't please many people.
I don't know what your producers were expecting. More advertisers?

What happened what thieves, that's not good Haiko. I am sure there are/were many listeners. The podcasts and archives were great, just Tuesday I listened to the podcast show with Alan and Debbie so I am sure there are many who do the same.

Don't worry, I think "TV" is your next calling.

I have something I'd like to say on the last show. I say last show because it will probably be the last one I'll listen to. Doubt it will be worth my time to listen in the future.

As affiliates, I don't think most of us are very receptive to things where we are tied into a specific time. We're always hopping around, working on sites, responding to emails, going through ABW, etc. We're used to being able to scroll down past things that don't interest us and slow down and re-read stuff from the experts. We're used to being able to search for exactly what we want. Radio just doesn't do any of that.

I'm sorry to hear it go, but I'm sure it's the right decision. ABW is where it's at. We don't need no radio show.

That is a shame. I had been making a point of making the show a high priority for me to listen in. Not always possible at the times provided, but it was a priority just the same.

Sorry to hear it Haiko. I never got a chance to listen. Is there a place to get the archives in podcast format. I'd like to listen to them.

Damn! I finally got an iPod for Xmas so I can listen to podcasts in the car, where I have the most free time. Is the archive still going to be available?

As some of you may or may not know, I am the Co-Founder of WebmasterRadio where Affiliate Marketing Today has been airing for just over a year. Haiko has done a great job and indeed voluntarily given of his knowledge to help educate the Affiliate Marketing Community.
For his time and efforts, we will always be grateful.

Will will expand the programming and continue Affiliate Marketing Today, and hopefully under a watchful eye from Haiko...we can maintain the high quality and standards that we've set with Haiko at the Affiliate Marketing helm.

We have been talking with some of the large Aff Marketing Programs about their own shows, etc.

Your ideas are welcome, just know that I will likely pass it by Haiko for his opinion as I consider him one of the longest running defacto experts in this community.

All of Haiko's Archives will remain in place for you all to continue to listen to and learn from. There's also a few great rants in there and yes, you can put them on your iPods and soon to your cellphones via data transfer. Imagine...HAIKO ON YOUR CELLPHONE! hehehe

Anyway, big thanks to Haiko for his support and know that we are very committed to continuing the excellence and standards set by him.

One door closes, another opens. Your show will be missed on Webmaster Radio, but maybe a new and better station will pick you up.

Thanks for the memories and the chance to be on your show.....

I can be on Tuesday if you like I offered to "interview" YOU before....

FWIW, I've had to miss most all of the different broadcasts I've tried to listen to (not just this one, others also) because of technical difficulties at the site. When Windows Media *should* open it doesn't and most times it's been impossible to access the broadcasts unless I've happened upon a live link.

Then - I was frequenting the chat room a bit, but kept getting booted out immediately, and when trying to re-enter was informed there had been too many attempts. Not so, it happened right after the first access and boot. Maybe white hats are screened out for some reason.

So for me personally it's not a loss, though I would have loved to hear all the broadcasts; the ones I did manage to access were superb. And Haiko is one of the FEW people in this industry I believe is worthy of TRUST.

All that said, and in spite of the value, radio broadcasts are still essentially a passive medium, with whatever interactivity is possible being cumbersome at best.

I firmly believe that when God allows one door to close there's another, better one that can open if we want. There are other types of venues that this type of information dissemination could take place with, that could even be far better; it would just be a matter of forethought and pre-planning. I can think of one myself - but nuff said, I'll just sit on it.

Thanks much for the effort that was made. I enjoyed what I was able to access 100% and will just continue to rely on ABW for sustenance for continued progress in this business, with much gratitude for the good-will, the help and the ETHICS and HONESTY.

I am ending my show [AMToday] for cause but, I certainly hope that the new host(s) will call their show something else.

If "Affiliate Marketing Today" has been someone's byline, used over an extended period of time, then that should, by all rights, be changed to reflect the change; otherwise it's kind of deceptive and really does step on toes.

Whoever does it at this point needs to think up their own, original by-line, IMHO.
