    My Philosophy Of Housecleaning!
    I don't do windows because ...
    I love birds
and don't want one to run into a clean window and get hurt.

    I don't wax floors because .
I am terrified a guest will slip and get hurt then I'll feel terrible
( plus they may sue me.)

I don't mind the dust bunnies because .
    They are very good company,
I have named most of them, and they agree with everything I say.

    I don't disturb cobwebs because
    I want every creature
to have a home of their own.

    I don't Spring Clean because
I love all the seasons and don't want the others to get jealous.

I don't pull weeds in the garden because ..
I don't want to get in God's way,
    HE is an excellent designer!

    I don't put things away because .
My kids will never be able to find them again.

I don't do gourmet meals when I entertain because .
I don't want my guests to stress out over what to make when
they invite me over for dinner.

    I don't iron because ...
I choose to believe them when they say "Permanent Press".

I don't stress much on anything because .
    A Type" personalities die young
and I want to stick around and become a wrinkled up crusty ol' woman!!!

That sums it up for me! My office is a total mess, it's approaching it's annual cleaning time (I exaggerate not), my wife doesn't spend more than a few minutes in here, says it upsets her. I may have no choice soon, but I tell myself I must clean and tidy BEFORE I switch the computer on, but then I think "I'll just check my emails" then that's it for another day.

Recently the pile of stuff to the left of my keyboard has started to occasionally avalanche across the keyboard while I'm typing which is a pain, and the bottom two drawers of my on-desk stack are now unavailable due to congestion.

I know how long it is since I cleaned as when it came to putting up Christmas decorations, sure enough somewhere behind the monitor were a couple that I stored there temporarily last January. So I just dusted them down and put them up again.

Tomorrow I will clean my desk - the only thing that really makes me do it is discovering stuff I forgot I ever had, much cheaper then going out and buying new stuff.

Then again I do like my maximalist working space, there's always something to look at or pick up when I've a few moments to wait for the puter to think about something.

lol, you can see my desk then too?

The only reason I am NOT looking forward to moving is I have to "move my piles" and we all know what happens when they get moved..... nuthin good!!!!!!

I was in my office for 3 days in San Fran and it looked like a hurricane hit it!!!!!! They will be encouraging me to "work from home today, leave your stuff there!!!!!"

My wife just keeps a corn scoop setting outside the front door.

If you can't get into the house you just scoop a path into it to whever you want to go in the house.

Does everyone know what a corn scoop is ????

My trouble is I'm a collector and hoarder. I'm surrounded by heaps of books and CDs and LPs. The LPs - I love them and hate them. I love playing them but they give me nightmares if I have to move house. I really must let go of clutter.

I had a choice to make
It was either clean house or get married. You should drop by to meet her. When she is done with the chores she will make us a snack.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHEMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM ... I'll refrain from a rant. You ain't making any friends of the female variety in here Teksun. Do you support your wife in a lavish lifestyle? If not, she's being abused.

If she's doing the cleaning, no matter how "lavish" the lifestyle is, it ain't lavish enough!

I think you are on to something here - we husbands may be unconsciously keeping a large mess in order to maintain a bit of our privacy.

    Here's a tip.

Always keep some "get well soon" cards laying around so if someone is coming over you can place them on the mantel and various places. That way they can just assume that you have been ill and haven't had time to clean.

The best way to clean your house is wait until a very windy day then open both the front and back door and let the wind do the rest.

Wow - looks like I'm just a beginner after all!

I didn't actually clean my office today, but I did re-arrange my plugs into the extension leads, I now have 13 available of which 2 are free in and around my desk area. That was a major step as it required all of those things to be switched off while I did it.
