    Who is probing your website?
I just had my web host setup error logs for me so I can see what errors my site was receiving. I see a bunch of:

    MSOffice/cltreq.asp errros.

First thought was a new MS exploit! But after a quick search, it turns out that:

"These requests are generated by someone using IE with Microsoft Office installed. IE will query the server to see if it supports web discussions. This query will only happen if the user has the discussion bar turned on. The discussion bar appears by clicking the "Discuss" icon or View-> Explorer Bar-> Discuss. The bar is off by default."

Yeah - Just make a blank one - they will be happy and you will not get the error anymore.

Name the page robot. txt and load it to your server. It can be blank with nothing on it.

Of Course - don't leave the space between the . and txt.

Having a favicon.ico file helps cut down on the errors too.

Guess I've got a question that makes me look like a newbie.

    What is a favicon.ico file.

I'm getting request for that on my servers.

    Hey BurgerBoy,

a favicon.ico file is actually the image icon that gets loaded into the end user's Favroties (bookmark) and replaces the IE icon inside the address bar; just the the left of the http://

    Hope that helps!
