I found the following in a clothing website:

(frameset framespacing="1" rows="20,*")
(frame name="header" scrolling="no" noresize target="main" src="http://www.fashionshoppingoutlet.com/catalog/tp.htm")
(frame name="main" src="http://www.qksrv.net/click-xxxxxx-xxxxxxx")
noframes

Could this tracking work? Or is the original merchant his own affiliate? Or what does it mean at all?

Jonny

p.s.: I can not use the original html brackets, because it makes the tag invisible, so I used () instead of<>

Jonny, From what I can see this is simply an affiliate who is using frames to auto load cj links into his pages.

This way it kind of looks like it's their site but it's really not. Just the top frame is loading images which link back to his main index page.

It's pretty easy to set something like this up, one BIG problem I can see with it is it will drastically drop their EPC rating, especially if they don't have serious shoppers on their site.

Breeze,
yes, but how can these links be tracking. I am directly on the merchants site, without any cj.com code on it. If I descide to buy a pant there, no code is shown on the buy page and also not on the thankyousite. So, how can sales be tracked by cj.com? I suppose that this merchant is his own affiliate, and uses the cj.com code only as an alibi and gets all the money without paying cj.com or any publisher and therefore he does not care on his EPC.

Unless everyone knows who you are talking about, it is impossible to diagnose what is occuring.

Todd,
sorry it was my fault so if you can not do it in public, please PM to me. I just want to understand it. If this is a business model, perhaps I can use it too.

Todd,
I double checked the url, and nobody knows what cj.com merchant I mean without checking each page on that site. I do not think that anybody would do that. So please work it out here, give us your diagnose

Something like this?
http://mywitchshop.com/Bumper_Stickers_N-Z.html

I am just doing it this way until I can build a bumpersticker site.

If you right click on the page in the frame and look at properties, you will see that it has my affiliate number. I think this should work.

If not, someone tell me so.

Should be no problem for tracking. 1000's of sites operate this way. The frame has the tracked session active.
