    I have to disagree Geno

I don't think Yashin and Kavasha are anywhere near the best, although they have tons of talent they lack the heart and that killer instinct needed to be the best in the NHL.
I'm sure there are better Russian players in the NHL but I get to see them play first hand.

Oh, c'mon, Adam! We're talking Fedorov, Bure, Kovalchuk, Zherdev, Ovechkin, Tyutin, Semenov, Frolov, Malkin, Suglobov, Perezhogin.... I mean the list could go on and on... What other nation has more talented players in the NHL than Russia?!?!?!

These are all great examples of players with huge talent but lack of heart. With the exception of Ovechkin and Kovalchuk because they are still young all these players were drafted with the expectations of being the next great one but never panned out. Don't get me wrong they are obviously great hockey players, but I would have to say Canada has the best crop of top players.

Sorry Geno - 1972 proved that God loves Cdn hockey!

Saw the Canadiens against the Penguins on Tuesday - Sidney Crosby was out in full phenom style. I know rising young hockey stars always get the labelled the next "Great One" but Crosby could be the real deal.

Jen, I have np with Canadiens. I am just amazed at how well the Russians do over 10k miles away from where they were born...

I am a huge hockey fan. I subscribe to center ice on my cable system and I spend an ungodly amount of money on season tickets to see my team.

Going to the Islander game Sat with the cub scouts. Hockey is good but I don't seem to see many games. I used to love college hockey.
