    How long to track?
What is the absolute longest amount of time it should take a transaction to show up in reports?

It depends on how the merchant reports. Some report at the time of the transaction while others may report at the time of shipping or in the case of a service like a travel booking, at the time the service is consumed.

Yes, even CJ admits that there is a rare instance when some sales don't track for some unknown reason. I'm sure it is very, very, very small percentage, but it does happen from time to time.

But to answer your question, there is no answer. It is very varied and depends on lots of factors, such as batch reporting (which is done perhaps once a day and may be for the day before or further back). Once you start working with a merchant and getting sales from them it will become obvious how they do things.
