    Question In House Affiliate Software
    Hi All

If you could request a merchant to use a specific In House tracking and reporting platform which would it be? I mean something that is totally stand alone, not KB / DT style.

There are a fair few around, and while from my end I can see some that I like, I think it's critical that I get your thoughts on what serves you best from the aff side of the software.

(Software Vendors feel free to give me your sales pitch too please )

    Cheers

no opinions? A chance to influence what a merchant selects for tracking and no one wants to offer up a suggestion?

Here's a comparison of some affiliate solutions:

I'm not all that picky, but sub-id tracking (like CJ's SID or LinkShare's u1) is one really helpful feature. Real-time reporting is also a plus.

Thanks Michael, my concern with a lot of these kind of reports is how up to date they are an whether they have a bias due to partnerships and advertising...

groundbreak Thanks Haiko will take a look.

    Hi Chris,
The listings at Affiliate-Software-Review.com are very unbiased. I review some where the vendor is not responsive and people are asking about their product - so I do it myself based on their demos and material.

However in most cases the vendors have submitted the data across over 200 features and I welcome you or anyone else to let me know if there's an error. If you see any missing vendors let the vendor or me know.

There is little or no advertising on the site at this time - I'm an affiliate for most of them (some have no affiliate program so go figure!) and some are paying to cover our costs.

To answer the original question there are many good products out there - there is no "best". It really depends on matching the platform with the merchant's unique needs.

    Regards,
    Peter

Definitely. Being able to tell which website/page that sale came from is a plus.

groundbreak seems to not offer the sub ID tracking ? I'm looking at PartnerManager or going with the XCart core system and then customizing it right now, any extra thoughts?

    Cheers

Chris- we don't use an out of the box, so I can't recommend one of those- but i can help with some of the features.

Sub ID is a big one.
Other issues I see as a merchant and affiliate-
    flexible landing pages
back end ability to take phone calls that track
clear stats built in is helpful
I'm a big fan of private labeling or co-branding- but I don't know if that works with your model or is available off the shelf

Thanks Jessica, all issues we're looking at, right now a big decider will be which system gives us th most flexibility to customize it so we can add what we need regardless of what is there when we buy it
