    Killed A Forum and Need to Redirect
    I took a forum off of one of my sites and would like to send any traffic from any old indexed pages back to mydomain.com/. What's the most professional and Google friendly way? There seems to be several options out there.

    I'm assuming php and permanence.

    PHP Code:
    <?
    Header
    "HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently" );
    Header"Location: http://www.new-url.com" );
    ?>
    If not search for 302 (temp) redirects and lang in G.
    Continued Success,

    Haiko

    Or for a permanent redirect on Apache, in .htaccess

    Redirect 301 /forum http://www.example.com

    Thanks for the help all. I probably wasn't clear enough in my post. I want to redirect such as http://www.mydomain/forums/any/other/foo.php, but thanks to your clues I have it now. Here is what worked.

    I added to .htaccess in the root directory.
    RedirectMatch 301 "^/forums/(.*)$" "http://www.mydomain.com/"
