I just added some G-ads and they are still promoting Christmas! When do they change?

Whenever the advertisers wake up! The advertisers are who decide what their ad copy says...
Or do you mean the "themed" background? My themed backgrounds automatically turned off Dec 26, as I recall. There is no knowledge that is not power. ~Hemingway

No Leader just the ads for text. You would think that on Dec 26th all Christmas ads would become non-existent. Very poor management on Googles behalf. I guess they have bigger fish to fry. This is what happens when you become to big to fast.

Leader is correct, the advertiser is in control of their own campaigns. They need to go in and change the ad themselves. Google has nothing to do with it from that stand point.

Sounds like a bit of a n00bie mistake from the advertisers. It's simple to set up a time limited campaign that turns itself off automatically.
Of course, it's not just Christmas ones. Advertisers often forget to remove ads when a product becomes obsolete too.
