Exclamation ReStockIt Data Feed - Updated - 6.05.06
    Hello team,

We have noticed the problems some of you have been having with the datafeeds in the janitorial and office supply verticals with some merchants.

We at ReStockIt.com want to be sure you do not have those issues with our datafeed. You should all have the latest pricing that we are showing on the website to insure your conversions are the best they can be at all times.

I will be posting and updating this thread whenever our datafeed gets a fresh update. We normally update monthly, but if price or availability from anyone of our vendors changes, we will update as well. If you are using GoldenCAN, you do not need to worry. Your data will refresh automatically. The others can download the feed from our standard location below.

If you ever have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. We feel we are a team and accordingly, you need the latest and most accurate data to present to your site visitors.

    RSI datafeed: http://www.andyrodriguez.com/merchants/rsi/rsi-feed.csv

    GoldenCAN RSI Feed: http://www.goldencan.com/merchants/display_21.aspx

    Thank you for your support,

It would've been nice to have gotten a reply to this thread from a week ago http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread.php?t=63852&page=2 because the goldencan pages I had weren't showing the same prices as their site then, the ones I've checked now are, but there are some items missing images still.

Your ability to send sales is not being intrusive buddy....thats what we do. That why I have IM. You wanting to see how the weather was in Miami is one thing, you having a question on a feed, accuracy or anything else related to your income is what we are about.

What's up with the product URL changes?

    We go from this:
    http://www.cjaddy.com/click-INSERTPID-10379259?url=http://www.restockit.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=76891&c1=affiliate&source=cj&kw=datafeed-INSERTPID

    to this:
    http://www.cjaddy.com/click-INSERTPID-10379259?url=http://www.restockit.com/browseproducts/Yardsaver-4x7--(YS47)---NEW-ITEM-2005!.html?c1=affiliate&source=cj&kw=datafeed-INSERTPID

I cloak my links, and use the ProdID= part to create my links. If I ran this feed without noticing that, none of my links would have worked

Also, it looks like some of the thumbs images are setup wrong as well:
    http://www.restockit.com/http://www.restockit.com/productimages/arrowshedsthumb/YS47-new.jpg

Note the extra http://www.restockit.com/ before the actual image location.

I'm off to a bad start with this one. I ran the last 3 updates with no problems, but this tossed me "Duplicate entry '72.44' for key 1" as soon as my update script started.

Boy it would be nice if the guy that put this whopper together would have opened up notepad and gave some idea of what types of changes were made if any. This is my first big feed site and it's kind of scary to mess with after it's going.

Oh well I'll give it another go Friday.

It seems way worse than I thought for me. I tied my set up to Product ID thinking that it would remain the same over time. It's in my nice static looking mod_rewrite generated URLs which the bots have been slurping up for weeks. I checked two products and they have changed the Product ID in both and it's probable for many more.

Hopefully by the time I get home late tomorrow someone will show me that it's not as bad as it seems.

We have been looking at this since yesterday and we will make a decision today and generate a new feed. There were 2 changes, the links changed from dynamic to static in an effort to give you better seo rankings, and they added about 30K more skus to the feed.

We will be making a decision today, any preferences in keeping the current static links or going back to the dynamic links ?

Scott, I hear you....would you prefer going back to the dynamic? Would anyone prefer the static? i don't think we need two versions, and i'd rather keep it simple, so your feedback will help.

Well if we can have a wish I would like to go back to the set up when I started on 11/2/2005. I built my dynamic site to fit that database and like I said the couple of updates since loaded with a push of a button. I'm creating nice static looking URLs to link my pages dynamically and the searches have been gobbling up pages nicely. All thats gone if the ProductID changes because it's in my URL to the product detail pages. Like a dummy I thought the ProductID stayed the same for a give product almost forever.

The size increase from 20,000+ products to 50,000+ HMMMMMM. I know my sitemap tool would cry. It took forever to spider at 20,000 and now would probably have to output in multiple files. I imagine the size is doable though.

I prefer the way it was before with the ProdID= links. The new feed's links will create a lot of revision work on my templates, but I'm glad there are more products.

One other thing, with the csv running over 50mb, how about zipping that bad boy up so it doesn't take as long to download and won't eat up your bandwidth.

    Ok team,

Just got the word in from the RSI, we are going back to dynamic. We understand the processes you have in place and don't want to cause you any hick-ups with traffic or the big G....

New data feed will be released later this afternoon and we will even zip it up ...

Ok, Data Feed Update as of 2.10.06

We have gone back and generated the feed with the old dynamic link structure. We have created 2 files, a zip and a regular csv format.

The new feed has over 50K skus, and more on the way....here are the 2 locations, same file name, just change the file format from csv to zip.

    Zip file: http://www.andyrodriguez.com/merchants/rsi/rsi-feed.zip
    CSV file: http://www.andyrodriguez.com/merchants/rsi/rsi-feed.csv

Let me know if you run into any problems with the new files....

And again, thank you for your support...

I must be really missing something here. What is the point of the IDNumber if it changes or shares the value "0" with other products? If there's not a number associated with a product that stays the same I'm lost.

Much better Andy. And the 7MB zip is a lot better than a 48MB csv file

Have someone take a look at the Thumbnail and Image URL fields. Some of them are still coming up invalid since the domain name is repeated twice.

    Ex.
    http://www.restockit.com/http://www.restockit.com/Images/Default_small.gif
    http://www.restockit.com/http://www.restockit.com/productimages/ramos-thumbs-10-4-04/MTS-4PI-thumb.jpg
    http://www.restockit.com/http://www.restockit.com/productimages/rg-thumbs-4-19-04/2340ac-thumb.JPG

Also, I think the incorrect banners need to address as well. The free shipping offer is now for orders over $169 instead of $199 and I don't think RSI does flat rate shipping at $11.95 anymore either.

Here goes my inexperience showing again. The ReStockIt feed has some duplicate SKUs and I am using that as a unique key in my database. Should I be looking for a way to weed those out on my end, or could they possibly be eliminated on the ReStockIt end?

Anyone get this $25 bonus? Just checking my stats and didn't see it anywhere.

Still don't see the GoldenCan $25 bonus either.

I guess while I'm at it, I should mention that I was only payed $363.01 from this advertised $471.92 commission.

    When's pay day?
