    Falsh Banners
Read a few post here about flash banners.

    Do affiliates like/prefer/despise flash banners?

We are with ShareASale, wondering what the recent pro's/con's may be?

I predict that we'll see a lot of news on Flash, ActiveX and spyware installation emerge in 2006 including Flash banners.

Donuts, I agree with you prediction, have experienced a few installations myself and they are a pain to get rid of. Especially the anti-virus one.

Would probably be easier and simpler for affiliates to have simple .jpg and aninmated .gif banners.

I don't see any affiliates (unless I'm missing some) with SAS offering 'Flash' banners, so probably best to stay out of that department.

I don't think the world thinks it is ready for them, yet. I like to see them but too many apparently block them.

I neither love them nor hate them. I'd have to see some click and conversion stats to make a judgement--Beauty is in the Eye of the Commission Check.

I just can't stop laughing at "Falsh".

    Must've been a long day.

We experimented with Flash banners, but in reality for spurring a sale, they were not very effective. Our products tend to be visually rich but also technically involved, so its more important to get a customer looking at a product page than a nice moving brochure.

I think Falsh (sorry I couldn't resist) is best reserved (for the time being) to the more artistic side of the internet. For commerce, the message should be the same no matter what kind of package you put it in.

However, on the commerce side of things (like product configurators, etc) Falsh (I can't stop) can be pretty useful at improving conversions.

    All the best,

    Dave

I'd skip them too. And roll overs, and pop unders. In fact, if the world could go to 100% text links, I'd be happy

j/k. Reasonable banners and product images are great.
