If you can afford a forum of your own here, it will pay off, T.Z.

Start with a thread of your own, keep it active and interesting for people, run a nice promotion for, say, the first 100 affiliates that join and get active; and then analyze whether a forum is something that you would like to go with.

What would be considered a good promotion? We are planning on offering 20% commissions. What's an example of a simply promotion that works.

By a good promotion I meant a special commission rate for the first affiliates that join you through the program announcement at ABW.

Look at what Geno does. He's got to be one of the best program "promoters" on ABW.

Do you mean that we should post updates to the thread when new products are added and when the site is updated, or added to? If so.... how often should update posts be made, when a few new products are added or with major additions or changes?

Go to the New Affiliate Programs and Announcements thread. Then click the "Views" link, and tell me which programs' announcements have been viewed for the largerst number of times.

Answer: Those that have been used most wisely! I mean, if I paid 75 bucks to announce my program, I would use that thread for every single penny paid! You have to understand that this is one of the best places online for any new program to let the affiliate community know everything about it. So use this opportunity! You may post your limited-time affiliate offers (be it commission increases or special deals), news on how your program got better, etc, etc. Use your imagination. And most of all - be consistent. Do not leave your thread once you've started it. Keep it up-to-date (on your program's enhancements, etc) and affiliates will know that you are doing your part of the work...

Yes indeed, there will be a cell meeting of local fellow-travelers here in Los Angeles this coming week.

... probably funded by the Russian Mafia
West coast is nothing like the East coast mob. No cement shoes disposals in the East River like in New York, since the Los Angeles River has no water in it.
