    Domain name?
    Looking to buy more domains.

Where is the best deal to get domains, while maintaining the security of your domain?

    Some people will say GoDaddy.

I like 1 & 1. 1 & 1 includes private registration without any additional fees for the private registration.

I should clarify, Iím not concerned with private registration. I only want a place that offers a good price, with ability to lock your domain so it cannot be stolen.

Dose anyone know why a .tv cost more than a .com. I always thought it was better to have a .com, than anything else. Is .tv worth it?

GoDaddy dose look better than what I am currently using, and I may use it. I have another question, now I know everyone likes to keep their secrets, but please give me your input. If you could get the domain you wanted, ie. ____whatyouwant.com or whatyouwant.tv what would you do?

You are cheating yourself if you don't compare 1 & 1
1&1 - Leader in Domain Prices*
    1&1 Go Daddy Yahoo!

    .com .net .org $5.99 $8.95 $9.95
Private Domain Registration (Included) $1.00 $9.00
    ICANN Fee Included $0.25 Included
    Total Annual Cost $5.99 $10.20 $18.95

My original layout spacing did not come out at all so to try to give the appearance of spacing/table I inserted happy faces
check 1 & 1's site if you'd like a beautiful layout of price comparisons

Yes, you can lock at 1 & 1

I would pick .com over .tv unless you own the rights to a show

People are still "dot com happy" when in comes to thinking of domains.

One problem with Godaddy is that if someone contacts them complaining that you are infringing on a TM, Godaddy charges you an admin fee to your CC just for reading the email. Matters not whether your domain actually infringes or not.

Also, Yahoo just sent out a bulk infringement notice to a bunch of domains that are "similar" to yahoo (eg names with yuhaa in them), and Godaddy billed anll their registrants that got the email. No other registrar does that.

I read an article a short time ago that those with good domain names have bought up all their extentions ,I don't know if that is an advantage or protection. Eg abestweb.biz, net etc.

    Check out DomainSite .com

Excellect support, good prices, paypal and CC payments.

extensions .tv is from the country of Tuvalu and is cashing in on its worth to U>S. based websites because of its obvious meaning. Checking ICANN will yeild more information.

I would always take the .com of name if you can

.com is and will stay king of the internet for a long time to come.

.tv may see its day once "Media Centers" replace PCs and Macs in the home in the next 3-5 yrs.

***As a side note watch as "pipelines" for cable televisions channels start coming online. CNN has a great one and feel this is what people will want.

Not ALL 1000 channels of crap for $60-$100 per month, but just the learning channel, history channel, cnn, espn, etc. pipeline for like $25 a year per pipeline channel....that is where .tv will come into play. Well in my humble opinion.

    peace,

I would only buy .com's, but if I really like the name, I would also but the .net companion just in case, nothing else, not even the .org.

When I buy a newname.com, I don't only buy it to make money now, I also want to be able to sell that .com name for millions later, if and when an opportunity happens to presented itself in the future.

All I know is that business.com was sold long time ago for 7MILL, and I don't think they would had pay the same amount of money if that name was business.tv ot business.sho, maybe business.info can be a contender for business.com, but I don't know that info.

    Sal.

Note: If they ever come out with an .abw extension, I would definitely buy a few good newdomain.abw on the stop, but as for the rest of the alphabet soup ext's that those company's try to sell me everytime that I get a new .com, I am not interested for now.
