    Where do newbies go?
I feel like a stranger in a strange land... (I think that is a book too)

I am a newby (hence the subject title) and I have been reading and lurking and all that...

This is a universe unto itself with strange terms like parasites, aff, etc.

Is there a place where I can get aquainted with this business on a level that I understand? Are there any "mentors" out there?

    I feel SO ALONE!!!!!!!!!

    thanks

Sammie, Welcome to ABW! As for the strange terms, check out the Acronym Dictionary

And yes, with all the different threads on various topics, this place can seem a bit intimidating. Feel free to ask questons on the topics that interest you. Also the search feature comes pretty handy.

Hope to read more of your posts.

    cheers!

My company is not too far. It's in Novi. Unfortunately, I'm not in MI though. But calling me will still be a local call for you. So give me a call whenever you feel like.

Hope to talk to you soon.

    cheers!

What helped me a lot at the start was to click on "New Posts" on the toolbar after you've logged in. Doing that once or twice a day cuts the number of posts down to a manageable amount.

Read the ones that interest you and you'll start getting up to speed on what you need to know. I'll take awhile, the learning curve's pretty steep, but I haven't seen a better way to get going on all this.

Wanted to add, that although six other projects are happening now, there will be a more extensive newbie resource section. Delving in and getting reviews and reading will always be the best way to learn - by doing!
