    Amazon vs. Adsense?
Do you think Amazon has a shot at the pie?

Let's say a webmaster has not yet tried Adsen$e.

Now Amazon is getting in on the deal.

If the webmaster wanted to try one, would you say:

    (1) Go for Adsense

    or (2) Try Amazon?

i certainly would give amazon a shot if the contextual ads is payable with %ofsale, not with $perclick.

The thing is Amazon already has %ofsale for text ads -- at least those ads I can specify on the page.

They're talking about the Amazon "adsense" and Amazon business is general here:

    AdSense.

    Unless Amazon's willing to:
    1) Pay more than AdSense
    AND
    2) They pay so much that it's better than running Amazon's regular per-sale links.

I totally agree with Leader, AdSense will make you much more than Amazon per sale links. Having said that, it dose depend on what keywords AdSense will be serving to the page on which it is placed. On the other side, how willing are your visitors to buy from Amazon? Much depends on the page on which the ads are placed, and the people who view them, and how you use each ad.

let me emphasize contextual. ok now, i hope we're now on the same page.

a %ofsale on contextual links is different from a %ofsale on regular links.

of course, there will always be people who may feel for it and those not in favor. but if you do not test it, you don't gain anything. even if you don't earn, at least you have proven that it doesn't work.
