    Linkshare's Spam Filter
Trying to send a SIMPLE email to Target - which by their emaill address is managed by someone at Linkshare.

Can someone at LS tell me which word on this simple email is considered spam and therefore refuses it?

Do you have any text links or banners that are specific to shoes/footwear?

    Thanks

This is just so stupid!!!! And it is a perfect example of why affiliates are so frustrated with the communcation process at LS.

Shall I say it again and again and again??? LS!!!! Implement a ticket support system and get rid of your email system that is complained about here every darn week.

    Hi Billy,

I deal a lot with Emails and was just wondering if your ISP is COX? From the look of the email it seems to be that the LS server does not like COX!! Hopefully they fix this issue for you...

Linkshare uses a third party for spam filtering, and that company (Postini) may have determined that your ISP is deserving of being blocked, for some reason.

Contact LS support through the proper channels and I'm sure we can get an answer on exactly why it was blocked, but I cannot tell from the message you posted alone.

COX is an isp, yes, when I was working in Customer Service years ago and someone told me their email address was something@ cox.net I was sure they were pulling my leg. Then got more emails and did some research.... let's just say that big companies should say their names before they pick them and think of who ELSE needs to say their name

    Billy,

Skip support entirely and go directly to the top. I got this email from Mr. Messer before he left LS: For any LinkShare related inquiries, please feel free to contact John Kim, CEO of Rakuten USA at john.kim@rakutenusa.com.

I bet if Mr. Kim starts getting enough emails from people who can't get answers from LS support we will see a change in the way LS handles their support system.

I'm CONVINCED there is no actual affiliate manager for Target.

TWO sales didn't track - and I sent TargetAffiliates-at-linkshare.com several emails

    No response

Eventually I get an autoresponder-type reply listing all the ways "I" probably messed up as to why the order didn't track (please check your Uncommissionable Sales Report/maybe it's there, etc.)

Was it from the actual Target AM?

    Nope.

So much fun to read my comments about this. Sad, though, to see some things at LinkShare have still not changed.

I've had good luck talking with Randy Ayala about the Target program. Give him a try at rayala at linkshare dot com. He's the Target Program Manager for Linkshare.

Hey, I just noticed there was a post up there above from Danix from LinkShare. He was always one of their best support people and always seemed to understand what was going on from our perspective and was quick to respond to problems. I see his last post was in March. Anyone know what happened to him?

    Snib...

It appears Linet in Customer Service is the AM

(Linet, I know you read this stuff/not directed at you)

    Ron...

Is it possible for you to make a Linkshare post without the word "Sadly"

I'm pretty sure he's in the tech department rather than support, so I'm not sure he can help much with merchant-specific issues. You're right, though. He's always very helpful and responsive.

    All,
I just talked to the Target Account Manager and the wrong email address was posted. If you need to contact Target please use affiliates@target.com.

That doesn't explain why my emails to the Target Account Manager were replied to by generic support personel.

Can only mean one of 2 things - both of which are bad:

Target AM not interested in responding to emails herself or

Support personel aren't trained to send an email to the CORRECT person within Linkshare

Lemme' say I finally got a response from the actual Target AM this morning

Sadly (to quote Ron), it was not due to my contacting Linkshare. It was because I finally contacted Target directly - and THEY contacted Linkshare.

(No idea why she's calling me Rob - but at least she responded)

    Rob,

My name is [deleted] and I work on the Affiliate Team here at Target. I
understand you have some concerns regarding the accuracy of the
Linkshare tracking. Can you send me your site URL, Site ID (SID), and
the orders in question- that are not appearing in Linkshare reporting.

    Thanks!
