I just received a submission from an International search engine* to be added on the links page of my ghostie site.

    Site is : http://www.abrahamsearch.com.

I'm in 2 minds whether to add it or not since on my site I have -

quote:
If you have a ghost or paranormal related web site, you can have your URL added to our site quickly and easily by going here.

I don't think they read the most important part, "ghost or paranormal related web site". I'm not an FFA link site, and never will be.

Anyone have any thoughts on the matter of whether they should be added or not?

    * This is their description of the site.

    Hmm
A search at their own site for 'ghosts' only turned up one url, 'paranormal' only 4 urls of which one was a duplicate.

I would have doubts about adding them to your site if this is all a search turns up with them.

My wee trivio directory turns up nearly as many links

No, you don't need to put more ghost stuff on your site.

Anyway, your site kind of ties in with mine in a way. Both are about Scotland

I've had no reference to your site in my stats that you're sending me any traffic...

Hi Fish. It has been a while since I visited your site but I liked it really well

I can't remember if you had any links for Ancestry.com, but I thought I would let you know that they now have databases for UK genealogy. I do faily well with them and they do pay.

I was thinking that someone interested in castles and history also might be interested in genealogy, so that could work ok on your site. You might want to check it out.

Vicki, I sneaked a link to geneology.com on the top of my links page as if it was "just another link to a site"

Are geneology.com and Ancestry.com the same people?

Genealogy.com and Ancestry.com are 2 different companies. I did have links to Genealogy.com but found that they did not convert very well at all. Not sure if it was the tracking or just the way they had their site laid out.

I have done well with Ancestry.com. They have a special messageboard for affiliates and it is very active. They did just announce a new comission structure. Some of the larger sites are not happy about it but I hope in the long run this new system will be better. It seemes to give the little sites more of a chance to hit a higher tier. We shall see.

They do pay! The tracking is usually a day or 2 behind but they are working on that. All in all I think they have been very open to sugestions and seem fair to me.

heyder, 213 credits, yippee, did I make some of them or did you give me more freebies, I've linked to the page that links to you more prominently on all my pages so hopefully I'll send more traffic... I've only had 2 clicks back, but what the hell, you have to start somewhere

Hey heyder is searchany.com different site from gosearchforit? Same results or different?

Fish, damn... my little popup thing mustn't register as sending you traffic cause it's a redirect or something... I am sending you some hits dude My counter shows 223, does this url not show up in your stats as the referer: http://www.scotfind.com/cgi-bin/links/jump.cgi?ID=1413

If not, that'll be why people slag me off (not you buddy) for not sending them traffic when I do send a wee bit

Hey, would me linking to your frameset matter rather than an internal page?????????????????? I wanna show up in people's stats

Websearchengines, right now they are seperate but linking them together is in the works.

As for the credits, I upped the payout temporarily to 3 per visit but that will probably have to be lowered.

The way all these ppc engines are working is all based on paying out for bidded listings, but I wanted gosearchforit to payout as an exchange only and therefore credit all listings as it already does.

Searchany.com will be a straight ppc engine but like I said I do plan the carry the same database.

    WebSearchEngines.net

I've noticed an increase in the number of people visiting via "direct access", as in typing in the url or selecting from favourites, maybe your redirect has been classified as direct access.

Previously, I had noticed you sending me people when they actually clicked the links or searched from your site.

I dunno! Feel free to try it

You have to remember that'm using a free (French) tracker, which they are continually developing and I don't think it's quite up to speed yet.
