I believe it just means the people were trying to access those directories and they don't exist.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Jessica,
    Thanks.
Some of these entries seem to be this what you said, but where did they get the URL vvv.mywebsite/serial%20online%20relationships%20disorder. This URL must come from something, but it really never existed.
Those entries with Inktomi's SlurpConfirm404 seem to be spiders trying to get access also to folders or websites that never existed in my site.
Very strange. I can't explain me what this is.

If you check your addy in the search engines, you may find that there are links indexed that never existed on your site. I have a theory about where those links come from, but I can't prove my theory yet, so I'll keep my mouth shut for now.

Anyone with a theory they'd like to post???

Could be that someone owned the domain before you, and those pages no longer exist on YOUR site, but did before...

On behalf of the Slurp entries I found out that Slurp is sending non-existant URL for testing how the 404 sites are handled.

The other entries still are a mystery.
