haiko,

as i mention in another post the cj community will come here now but will they stay, i dont know, i certainly will become an active member IF the live editing goes, i see no need for it other forums that i frequent dont use it and they have thousands of members you also have filters to block swearing or names of those that you may worry about being slandered

it just makes me feel like i am being watched and hacked

i hope others will post here to convince you that this would be a far better forum without the live editing

cyberpunk,

We will not edit 99.9% of all posts, I hate the being watched feeling also, but when it is highly offensive ... and we get complaint(s) about a particular post we will edit only the offensive portion but attempt to maintain most of the thrust behind the post.

We encourage free speech and exposing merchants for what they are we do not have ANY special arraignments with anyone we are independent marketers just like everyone else

I will send an email notice to CJ merchants so that they are aware that we ALL are here, if they want to "defend" their position in our open discussions for the furtherance of all our revenues!

IG,

Most of the prolific CJU posters are already members ... and I'm sure she'll be on later

haiko my friend,

i am not talking about what you allow or delete

let me put it like this..

everytime you look over my sholder my cursor turns to the "busy" icon, not just when i am posting but when i am browsing

if you allow such a high percentage of posts to go unedited then that is all the more reason to stop doing it, it is making you appear a control freak

i am just trying to help you make this abetterweb i dont think i am asking for too much and i am sure that many members will agree with me on this issue

your member base is about to increase but will they stay and make the same valuable contributions to this forum as they did at cju? not me! i hope you will seriously consider what i am saying

i also hope that those who agree will post here and say so, thankyou

Haiko, please keep moderating!!! If I wanted to do a war, I'd have enlisted for strikes on Afghanistan. And the flame wars were what was so different (not "better") about CJU... "no thanks" to any more of that!

cyberpunk,

This is a medium to help affiliates ... and if a flame war should happen then fine (even at me ) ... but I will not allow the mayhem that existed on CJU! For that is unproductive and definately not conducive to the valuable exchange of information, ideas and suggestions which is the only intent of abestweb!

I would have to say cyberpunk that i agree with haiko!

A forum without monitoring is useless.

And in my opinion you should have no reason to care about monitoring.......that is unless you have something to hide????

I disliked the flame wars in the CJ forums because of all the negative energy it sent out (no I'm not a hippy). I'm sure that when Haiko does moderate it will be to the benefit of everyone and will be totally justified.

haiko,

yes i agree with what is being said about the flame wars but why are you breathing down my neck when i am just browsing without being logged in?

what sort of a threat is it to monitor what someone is reading if they are not logged in?

i DO have something to hide! ftp passwords, my cj password, webmail passwords

i am paranoid about web security and i agree that there is a need for moderators i am disturbed that this is happening whilst not logged in

cyber-punk,

Shoot I'd be pissed if someone did that to me also, but, I usually look at three pages (in this order) ...

1. Main Page (and refresh it)
2. Daily topics to see new posts
3. Whos online (and don't to thread till it's been replied to if at all)

I swear, I'm not "following" you nor anyone on the forums!

Haiko

PS. There is NO way that I can make your cursor turn to the "busy" icon (if you were being literal)

Haiko?

My cursor sometimes shows the hourglass when I'm doing nothing in particular, perhaps slightly more so when the place is busy. Sometime the cursor seems to vibrate a bit too when I'm replying.

Right now the cursor looks like someone is sending a morse message through it!

As it happens more at some times than others I assume its to do with an overload somewhere.

Its not a problem, its just something I've never seen before and if I was worried about security I might well have thought I was being hacked. I'm not worried though as the only reason anyone whould hack me is to laugh at my phears0me windoZe sKiLlZ.

francis,

I do know the Link Exchange does take time to load, as of late, and *does* cause the cursor to be busy on page load and also on the reply page loading also! Can you do me a favor .. scroll to the bottom of the page when you see the busy cursor and tell me if it is that.
I have checked the attack logs here and see nothing out of the ordinary (Besides Lex trying to hack into the control panel LOL).
I will also contact infopoop and see if this is an inherent problem with UBB.

Ok, the cursor thing is happening every thirty-two seconds right now no matter where I scroll or what I'm doing. I think its every 35 seconds while I'm writing this reply. I haven't seen any other pattern but I'll keep looking.

Yeah. I wouldn't worry about it though. It lasts between half a second and a second. I noticed it as soon as I arrived here and figured this kind of board just did that. Its never caused me a problem.

(Says the woman who doesn't worry she has to re-ghost her hard drive back once a month because of vmm386.vxd disappearing regularly).

Hm, I always hear clicks at about that interval (30 seconds or so apart) when I'm on ABW (but no Busy icon)...

I figured that the ads were auto-refreshing! I didn't look up/down to see if the ads had changed, though...

All looks fine with me Haiko.
No strange quirks or behaviours.
I'm running Zone Alarm and no have alerts whilst on the abestweb forums.

Maybe it's an iframe peculiarity. Remember WebsearchEngines had that strange behaviour of the iframes popping out at him.

Ah..

I scrolled to the bottom of the page and watched my brower too. Every time theres an hourglass it says "downloading picture http://hc2humancli ck.com/hc/9298349/?=site9298349%cmd=in "

Theres some more I expect, but not enough room for my browser to display it.

So whats that, a rogue smiley? I reckon its this one...

<IMG src=http://www.abestweb.com/ubb/icons/icon29.gif>

it looks pretty evil to me, but then I reckon they all look a bit suspicious...

I wonder if Leader's noises are gone too? I turned the speaker on but didn't hear anything.
