I think iWon and Amazon's a9 does the same thing, incentives to search. Don't think you'll ever see Google do that.

I dont think google will go this route either. But if one of these schemes by msn or yahoo causes G to lose even one or two percent of their search share, there will be shareholder pressure to try something similar.

Google if goes through similar path, would sure tie up with some opensource or charity work.

Here's a great incentive, why not put to good use all those PhDs they have and improve their results?

    Cheers,

Looks like they're doing it and I think I've changed my mind. Give it a try see what happens, I really would like to see MSN and Yahoo do something. I think they might have waited a little too late since Google is a powerhouse and search and I don't know what it will take some to switch the search engines they use. But what the hell, try some incentives, can't hurt to try. And they do have a lot of hotmail users to promote this thru:

In the hotmail came a World Tour Search To Find Your Destination trivia contest:
Register to get in the game.
Find the correct answers each week (MSN Search can help)
Submit your answers for your chance to win.

Each week, you'll get to check out a different part of the planet where you'll find 10 clues well really, they're questions. You get one ballot for each correct answer in the Grand Prize Draw. In addition, you'll also have a chance at our great weekly prizes.

Play for a chance to win these!
    Luggage and spa certificates
Digital Cameras and Portable DVD players
And a grand prize trip for two to one of 4 mystery destinations.

So you think they can get some Google users with incentives?

I would love to benefit from a giant war between search engine companies over my $$$. I pray that Yahoo and MSN become more competitive...
