View Poll Results: Beta Idea - Allowing Affiliates to See Refer Data in Reports

Now thats cool! :
Now that is just a dumb idea.
February 16th, 2006, 05:32 PM #1Would Refer Data Be Useful Information?More brainstorming here.
I don't know if anyone provides this level of reporting but we are considering a feature to allow affiliates to see a "traffic log" of the clicks they send us.
We would include:
- Date/time of visit
- Refering page from affiliate site for visit
- Page visited on our site
- Revenue generated (if any) by the click
- Geo-Location of user (Big Maybe)
Again, this is a concept that maybe useful or useless (although my intuition says the latter).
PS: If you like the idea and we have missed a data point please speak up!

Sounds great! All that info is invaluable in determining what's actually going on with our sites and visitors.Peace,

Date/time of visit --maybe
Refering page from affiliate site for visit -- can be useful
Page visited on our site -- useless EDIT: this is a toss up. I'm thinking of something landing pages were this can be useful.
Revenue generated (if any) by the click --EPC can be useful
Geo-Location of user (Big Maybe) --useless and WHY?

You could see what was working and not working.

Could be useful, especially to look at sales and track them back through our site.

But this post is just to say that you impressed me with the smilies on the poll form, I never thought about that idea.

February 17th, 2006, 03:17 AM #7Originally Posted by rhkocatasVery useful info IMO. Except for Revenue Generated & Geo-location, MontRED shows these to the affiliates under the Last 100 Visitors. Think about it this way, the more info you give to your affiliates, the better. Some may use it, some may not. But by doing this, you are increasing the transparency.

It could be interesting...
As for geo-location, I could see uses for that. Geo-targeted PPC advertising might be considered if all the sales seem to be coming from one area...There is no knowledge that is not power. ~Hemingway
