    Search Box Links??!!
Why do so many merchants fail to provide search box links? I mean, I could understand on some small merchants if they don't have a huge product line, but there are biggies who don't bother to do this.

OfficeMax on Performics... no searchbox. Drugstore.com on Linkshare... nope. Figleaves on Linkshare, no. TechDepot on Linkshare, no (this despite OfficeDepot on Linkshare having one!) Computers4Sure on Linkshare, no. Orvis on CJ, no. and so on and so on.

It is simple html, people. It is not that hard!

    1... 2.... 3..... 4...... 5.......

    Okay. Done ranting for now.

But I still don't get it.

    -John.
There's a reason army's wear uniforms even though it makes them easier to spot. Sometimes that's what you want. Uniforms suggest organization, power, and numbers. These, in turn, inspire fear. And, as any good operative knows, there is no more effective weapon than fear.

Send them a nice email asking them to add one. I bet most of them will put one up once it's brought to their attention.

If they won't build the search box for you, ask them if they have a "search string". Using that, you could make your own.

This will require a little more tech savvy AM though.

So far, I've largely received silence in response. Not encouraging.

True, and I certainly do this for CJ and SaS merchants, where I have link redirect. I haven't seen any way to do this in LS or the cryptic Performics.

Um, I just looked in LS and I have a choice of text links or banners. Text links contains 13 text links and a "test link". Banners contains, well, banners. Am I missing something terribly obvious? If so, please show me the light, because I am feeling a bit blind here (and I thought I kind of knew what I was doing nowadays).

    Thanks.

    Drugstore.com?

    I see:

    Search Box
Let visitors to your site search for exactly what they want.

    and 106 text links.

Aaaarrgh! I am an idiot. I was looking at "drugstore.com pharmacy" not just drugstore.com.

Thanks, Trust. One down, way too many to go.
