    What the heck?
Today, my stats show 9 sales from one banner on one page. The sales are for a merchant who has never done much in the past and they total $6,945.00!

I am sure they will be reversed. But, I sure hope the merchant doesn't think I am messing around.

Dang! I wish the sales would stick but it seems so weird.

I'd guess ZERO, Sandra. Some jerk from [insert the country yourself] is ordering a bunch of stuff with the most expensive shipping puting it all on hacked cc's. Familiar story (to any merchant)...

Sounds like someone's going wild with a stolen CC, either that or they're dancing on the Submit button and (unknowingly) causing a zillion dup orders...

Well, it is messing up my stats! And, probably making the merchant mad as well.

    They aren't dup orders. Idiots!

    Really wish they were real.

    Don't give up hope yet!

I had one merchant right before Christmas that I added to my site as a 'filler'. They only have one product line and it wasn't something I would think would be an ideal gift, but I sold the heck out of this stuff for most of December.

Their highest priced item is 49.00 and I was having sales come in that were for 1200.00. I was POSITIVE that they were gonna be reversed... but they weren't and I have been paid.

Sales completely dried up in January though.....

Sounds like possibly someone from the merchant clicked your banner when checking out your site and got your cookie on their machine. It's happened to me several times

That's a shame if it's fraud... Merchants are on the warpath about this stuff too, lately, so I understand your concern. Hopefully, they will take the time to ask questions rather than using a knee jerk reaction. A good merchant would...

Well, there are 17 sales, now!

If it is the merchant testing something or other, it is darned inconsiderate.

I did have one merchant give me several sales since I had allot of trafic to one of my pages but no sales, but they were very small $ ones.

Have you contacted the merchant yet? If it is fraud, you might want to contact them before they conact you.

Well, it is still happening. I have sent the merchant an e-mail. You would think they would have noticed something on their own by now.

What if these are legitimate. That would be something but I don't think there is any chance of that at all.

Check your log files/site traffic stats to see where the traffic's coming from--could be you scored a #1 in G or Y that you don't even know about!

Well, I sure hope they're all for real. Wouldn't that be something? :-)

I don't blame you for being skeptical - better than being completely disenchanted if they do all go south but damn ... I would LOVE to hear they all stick. Would be so cool! Good luck. Hope there's a happy ending.

Either that or somebody at a busy place linked to a particular item on your site. Once somebody on a very busy pet freak forum linked to my doggie santa costume page and the sales on that item got juiced for a couple of weeks.

For some reason, a lot of my stats are missing so I can't tell what is going on. Still more today. My first e-mail to the merchant remains unanswered. I have sent a second inquiry.

Meanwhile, all my other sales have TANKED!!!

I don't know what is going on at all.

    Call 'em.

BTW, are they on some network or just inhouse?

They are network. I just asked the network to take a look.

I will see if I get an answer that way.

OK, the network is contacting them, too.

I am sure, now that these are not legitimate because they are all being done by the same user with the same IP address. (Do I know anyone who won the lottery, lately????)

I just don't want the merchant to think I am up to something!

This would be so sad if it is an atta boy from the merchant!

Now, where did my OTHER sales go???

Maybe some business person who's buying lots of gifts for their customers, or something like that?
