    when will sales post?
I am trying to understand when linkshare posts sales. I sent about 500 people to drugstore.com yesterday and I know there were some sales - the linkshare reporting shows 100K impressions and lots of clicks but no sales. Is there a delay?

also when I look at non-commissionable sales many of them say 13) SKU Does not match. what does that mean?

    thx

    Shefinds,
Drugstore.com reports transactions once a day to LinkShare. When I viewed their transactions that they submitted yesterday (2/21), it looks like most of the orders were placed on 2/20. If you are looking for orders that were placed on 2/21, you should see those transactions later today.

That's one of the mysteries of LinkShare. For sure you can kiss goodbye these transactions. At least you know it. Now, why aren't you paid? You have no responsabilities for these SKU mismatches. The links are generated by LinkShare, you provided the customer. You should be paid. I understandand most of the non-commissionable reasons, but this one?

Drugstore.com is not the only merchant with the SKU Does not match. I've seen this many times. One of my ex-merchants on LinkShare was a specialist in that field.

SKU does not match means that it is a noncommissionable item. In this case, perscription items do not earn commission, so that could be the reason. Depending on the merchant, there is sometimes a line item for shipping, which is not commissionable. Many merchants do not commission purchases of gift cards or gift certificates, so you may see that as a non commissionable as well.

In my humble opinion, it means the SKU the customer bought is not in LinkShare database. As LinkShare can't match the SKU from the transaction, the transaction is rejected and the commission is not paid. The reason could be due to the merchant not uploading new items.

You're NEVER paid for shipping as a rule, there's exceptions but it doesn't fit the "SKU does not match". There's many reasons for non commissionable transactions, gift cards, gift certificates, expired cookies but they have their own codes.

I've seen many problems with Overstock, like the wrong commission being paid, but I've never seen a "SKU does not match". And I'm talking about several thousand transactions. On the other side, for a merchant selling futons covers, one out of three transactions was mismatched and non commissionable.

When I review the non comm item listing, gift card sales do have the SKU does not match code. I know that shipping is never commissioned, but some merchants do send that through. In this instance, it could be a perscription item, so that could be the reason. Perscription items are never commissioned, applies to any site, including pet supplies, that have perscription items

I thought linkshare only updated reports once per 24 hours - overnight - is this not the case? I know CJ updates on the fly so it's always been a little annoying that linkshare doesn't.

Some merchants don't post sales until they ship. I believe Drugstore.com might be one of them. Wait a few more days, then check.
