Okies Happy Diwali...

Umhh i am an Indian, but i am a christian, now i am not too sure, i mean i wont be able to get it totally right.
But diwali means "Deepawali" the festival of light.

It has to do with the coming back of Lord Ram who came back to his kingdom after 14 years of banvas.

"Banvas" Just Like a trial, Lord Ram was send out in the jungle without anything...he had been deprived of a normal life and he his wife "Sita" and his younger brother "Laxman" left for banvas.
Where they struggled 14 years in the jungle, faced many hardships...
Banvas=Exile

And then he returned back to his kingdom and that day was celebrated as "Diwali"
Amd Lord Ram was exiled by his mother.
ASk a hindu
It had to do with some brothers of his uncles and stuff..Sorry on that...

Regards
TGO

"Happy Diwali"

FYI Everyone,

In the ancient Hindu Epic, Ramayana.
Lord Rama 's Wife, Sita was kidnapped during their exile by a southern terrorist called ravana .. he was from lanka , the place now known as sri-lanka.

In the epic, Rama and his military went to the south to fight ravana and free sita .. it was a fight og good against evil, with ram representing good and ravana representing evil .. rama won after a war that lasted for months, ravana was killed on the day of dussera, 20 days after which rama returned to the then capital of india .. ayodhia .. that day was celebrated all arround India by burning candels bursting fire-crackers .. this day was Diwali.

Since Then Diwali is celebrated every year by hindus the world over.

In short, Diwali is like the christmas of india .. yes .. the sales graphs rise during diwali just like it happens in christmas

Happy Diwali
Once again!

In the UK Diwali follows "Bonfire Night" which is on 5th November - both events feature fireworks, so we've had fireworks going off for over a week now

In case you have no idea, on 5th November we celebrate the foiling of a Catholic plot to blow up parliament. We have fireworks and burn effigies of a man called Guy Fawkes on huge fires. A few people even burn the Pope. If that isn't bizarre I don't know what is.

Happy Diwali

Fred--

Quickie Google-listed site check/--Destroys old so new can be created...that would mean that Content Sites would be in jeapordy, not CJ!

Ssanf--Well, erhm...uhm...the "wisdom" part's okay I guess...

Although I get the idea that it would take a lot more study to make a truly educated response to those remarks. It's like commenting on a car when you've only seen its headlights!

Note...I guess some of those content sites can stay... they do have their points after all. A "Quickie Google-listed site check" wouldn't have done much good if it only showed Revenue Sites in THIS instance!
