Question Does Amazon pay for anything bought with your ID?
Hi, if a user clicks a link of mine for say a speaker, but then turns around after they get there and buys a book. Do I get a commission for the book? Or do I only get something if someone buys that product only?

    Thank you.

You would get a commission for whatever was bought on the Amazon site via your link as the initial entry. If the user is looking for a radio and then decides to buy books & sporting equipment at the same time the sale is all yours.

Even if the original link is not a generic amazon link, but a specific one?

    Johnny,

Amazon will tell you what sold.
Once I sold a Hughe Hefner "Little Black book" -- now I don't have links to that book, but I got credit. I guess I reminded someone of a Playboy Bunny

I've tested it myself in the past. Clicked on a link to a specific product and bought something else and it showed up. So you'll get credit if someone clicks on a specific link and then buys whatever.

It is my understanding that you get a base commission for anything the customer buys by using your link, even if it was not the product the link led them to. But if they buy the actual item the direct link took them to, you would get paid a higher commision - something like 2.5% more.

No, the cookie that is placed will get you a commission from any sale.

    Exclamation
    except for zShops . . .

also (since this was an old thread) a change: direct links don't carry the bonus any more.
