    Keyword Tracking Code
    Hi Gang,

I'm new and not sure where to post this information. I represent a locally based online store. They've got a firm that they would like to represent them with PPC advertising. They want this firm to function on a CPA basis just like an affiliate would but they are not interested in signing up for an affiliate network since the scope would only be one agency. They are just looking to compensate one advertiser for their PPC efforts. Are there any good keyword sales tracking tools/codes available that you could recommend? Since it is a CPA deal, total sales price and origination of the sale needs to be captured just like what affiliate networks have available.

    Thanks!

Hi SoonerGuy, welcome to the ABW forum board!

I'm not sure how complex you need for your data reports to be. You might find Conversion Tracker adequate for this need.

If not, more description of what you need will help.

    MORE INFO: Keyword Tracking Code
Thanks DesignerWhiz. Glad to be here.

I glanced at the software you recommended and am waiting on their reply. It looks like they provide a lot but not what I need. I simply need code that will track a click to a sale with that sales price. If the PPC gency is getting 10% per sale, then we'll need to know not only how many sales they deliver but also the total price of the item sold....just like the code affiliate platforms deliver. They just don't want to spend the money for an affiliate platform since they are only working with one vendor/publisher. Also, they are on a MAC so that may limit some of the software out there. I'll let you know if the Conversion Tracker you recommended can handle this aspect when I receive a reply from them.

    Thanks!

Try IdevDirect affilate software for $100 ... that'll cover you as far as crediting a sale. The various products on the cart may become an issue though .... depending on your unseen site.

    Is this SPAM??
    Titled: leads leads leads

I have a leads based site that I'm looking for only a handful of affiliates to drive leads to. It's in the refinance/mortage/student loan consolidation/debt consolidation industry. I'm looking for only a handful of folks that can drive at least 5 leads/day. Is this something you'd be interested in? Or do you have any insight in how I should recruit affiliates?

    Thanks,

I wonder why SoonerGuy does not mention his need for affiliates in his other posts? Funny isn't it??

Probably because they weren't ready to branch out that way yet. He was in chat last night asking questions about how to go about doing an affiliate program. Private versus Network etc..

Heidi's correct in her post...this is a new adventure and we're just trying to gauge a level of interest for a network vs private administered program. From my chat knowledge last night, it was strongly suggested that SAS is the way to go. Any thoughts?

Thoughts would be not to spam forum members via email. That is a bannable offense.

For other thoughts there are MANY threads asking the same question, do some reading. I am not in the mood to reiterate information to a spammer. Go digging.... then ask questions specific to your situation.

Or hire one of the many knowledgable consultants here at ABW.

Is one email or pm to a knowledgeable person at ABW considered spam or did this guy send it to mass amounts of people?

We don't know how many people he emailed unless they step up and say so. He could have started a thread, after he did some reading and research, there are MANY threads lately about indy vs SAS or other networks, we need to repeat the same information every time because someone didn't feel like doing a search?

And any emails to forum members when you don't have enough posts to PM that look like recruiting emails are going to look like spam. Maybe he needs a lesson in communication "Hi Uncle Scooter, you look like you are knowledgable in an area I would like to start an affiliate program in, do you have time for a chat?" Still would be better to do it IN the forum and not via private contact that requires a forum member to reveal their email address.

There are lots of things SoonerGuy can do to make himself a part of the community and not look like a spammer..... 6 posts since joining in March...

Was just curious as in chat he definately did not come across as a spammer. Was asking extremely smart questions and its was obvious that he really only wants a few people to promote the business - not mass affiliation promotions as so many merchants want. More like Key Business Relationships with just a few. For that Shareasale might not be his best option.

Since I don't do lead based stuff, I was not a person that could answer the rest of the questions of how to find just a select few to promote his offers. Obviously he reached out to someone else who he thought might be knowledgeable about how to do it.

Sorry folks. To answer your SPAM question, I sent an email out to 3 individuals. It was late and I did not communicate as accurately as I could have (should have) in my email. I know better than this. My intention from the email was to get a level of interest from folks who appeared to know about leads based programs. I am doing my research on many different sites and value the feedback and information from the ABW community. Prior to putting up a post, I wanted to gather all of the information I could so that I could drill down through the research and ask very specific questions. This is why I started with my 3 (poorly executed/written emails) and a quick visit to the chat last night. I hope this helps to clarify. As stated, we're researching now and will post when we have a very direct question.

    Thanks!

Just get a $99 affiliate tracking script and problem solved. This would allow you to add more sites/affiliates later too.

    Cheers,
