    Incentive - Zappos issue?
    Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to get your opinion before proceeding. I was planning on a cashback/incentive based website. No downloads or parasitic applications. I was planning to donate a part of the proceeds to charity.

Is it bad? Also when I tried to apply to zappos, they rejected my application.

I don't see a problem with the model. But do you think it is something that we should refrain from?

    Thanks for your opinions.

Incentives + BHO toolbar equals someone sleazy enough to add some cookie stuffing to the mix... Everything points to this affiliate plan being none too pro-active for others, and very shaky on the smoke and mirrors frontend. There isn't enough there for incentive/rewards payouts without some cookie cannon antics.

    Hi Mike,

You lost me there. I am not going to have any toolbars or any other download. I just want to know if it is worthwhile to have a cashback site, sometimes with some proceeds going to charity instead of actual cashback to the buyer.

    No cookie stuffing or downloads.

    What do you think?

Incentive sites have a bad rep. around here because they've been linked with adware downloads, 'creative' business practices, etc. in the past.

"sometimes with some proceeds going to charity"

I'm no lawyer, but I'd definitely talk to one before starting a site like that.
