I tried to add it to my cart but:

Rebecca doesn't know how are made most of beauty products she's selling. Why is she a merchant? I'm not for killing seals but if you read further she's also protecting whales, Chinese cats and dogs...
It's always bad to mix feeling and business.

I just logged in to CJ and saw this is a new CJ merchant. For a cosmetics merchant to take such a stand is truly interesting.

Yeah, WOW! Pretty sad for a new CJ merchant to start off like this. That may be something political someone at corporate wants to share, but NOT THERE! Not like that.

Makes you wonder who is running their website program, does'nt it?

I think the baby seals are cute, but it's just not something you have on a merchant site. And on the second page, there is a pic of a baby seal just about to get clubbed. Just sell the hair products.

Seems there are a whole bunch of organizations they are supporting. If you look at the bottom left of their homepage you will see several others.

Makes you wonder if they are really here to sell products or is this a front for some other organization or cause.

Ahhhh man ... And I was having such a gooid day before seeing that. :-( Poor seals. They are one of my favorite animals. I have even done voice over for seals LMAO - Seriously - If I had a mic set up on this computer, I'd share my seal call with y'all. ;-)

OK, so back on topic ... it is really stupid for this merchant to have that SMACK in the middle of a sales page. Someone needs to let them know or clue them in to the facts of life and business. If they want to link to pages where they try to help and raise concern for a worthy cause, great but this is just stupid.

Would be a good in for an OPM. ;-)
    Peace,

What is wrong with a merchant promoting a cause? It seems like every time I visit these forums, people are criticizing and complaining about others for just about anything. It's sad that this thread is basically saying that making the "mighty dollar" is more important than those seals.

That is the very definition of anticonversionary.

Exactly. It seems like a way to spam their message to more people.

The fact that they afforded CJ's fees points to there being some well-financed place behind it.

there's a good chance a high proportion of visitors will walk away from a page with this kind of message. Maybe they aren't in business.

dpl882, there is a time and place for everything. Some of those images on her pages for her causes... and her relationship with affiliates is we drive traffic to make sales, if she wants to support these causes she can donate, set up a separate site, but mixing it in with her products?

And reading the text? I don't want to join a program that is run by someone with the sensibilities of a 15 year old girl. So I guess I should be thankful for the warning.

wow... Must be a heck of a seller for them to give it that kind of real estate.

It's probably not a merchandising decision I would have made.

I wouldn't put that info after the order confirmation.

Why not just put a small link at the bottom of the page to a separate "philosophy page" where all those details can be detailed?

There are many cosmetic companies that are against animal testing but the info being alluded to in this thread goes way above and beyond (it also turns off the customer)

I probably wouldn't put something like that there, because I'm trying to appeal to most all audiences, but lots of people promote causes they believe in on their sites. I see banners to help starving kids in africa, and katrina banners around on smaller merchant sites. And yes, those probably have more mass-appeal.
That site doesn't look like there a Target or Walmart size store, probably just a mom & pop who feel strongly about the seal clubbing, and they'd probably rather not even sell their stuff to people who don't agree with their beliefs anyway.

    Cool
Not too professional, but that site did get a few people here to look at it that never would of otherwise. )

So many reseller sites selling the same junk online as other sites....got to do something to set yourself apart.
