Angry Check your Amazon.com payment history
This quarter some brain at AMZN has invented a way of matching transactions with personal purchases. Folks are noticing account debits for the first quarter for personal buys that they don't recognize.

Debiting for personal purchased isn't new though - they've been doing that awhile. Or are you saying they are wrongly debiting personal purchases?

I'm not looking forward to the day they figure out who my family is and reverse all of those too.

Wrongly debited personal purchases (I did not make any personal purchases this quarter).

I wrote an email to customer service asking for the IP of the purchase but doubt I'll receive that information.

I just looked and they took $10 from my balance. I never buy from my own links. I told them to fix it but I don't expect them to. They never do anything when I complain about sales from friends not being credited.

Thanks for the heads up, Herb! I too had a wrongful deduction. I had only 1 order this year and it wasn't listed. Plus, it was for a gift certificate and we don't get commissions on those, do we? And the deduction was way more than any commission I would've gotten on that 1 gc order anyway.

At any rate, I sent them the order number for the gc and explained the situation that I didn't order through my link. If enough people complain, they'll take action. Apparently, some people on the Amazon boards got deductions so big, they would've had to have bought $43,000 worth of stuff. Ouch. Something's definitely wrong.

I just received an email back! Looks like it'll be OK after all...

    "Greetings from Amazon.com Associates.

We thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have discovered
an error in the reports. They are being re-run, and any errors will
    be corrected shortly."

described is known to us, and we are currently re-running the
reports and any affected accounts will be adjusted accordingly.

sure was fun while it lasted, though . . .

I wonder what happened when they first ran the adjustment, if they thought they were going to be able to deduct a lot of money.

Where are you guys seeing these deductions for personal purchases? I've never seen that type of info. Which screen are you looking at?

They reran the reports already, so they're not there (unless you made one for real), but you'd see them in your Payment History.

That was where I was looking, but I've never seen a deduction show up there.
