    Linkshare Sucks
    Count me among the many who do not receive replies from emails to Linkshare. Like everyone else, I am still waiting for commissions to be paid.

    Even though their web site states that affiliates will be paid monthly, this is far from the truth. In my opinion, Linkshare is just plain dishonest. I suppose it comes from the CEO and filters down throughout the organization.

    Have you signed up for the new system they have?
    If you haven't that probably explains the reason you have not been paid.

    They are a bit slow lately. I have 2 checks that did not arrive from 2005 I have written about, but I am just going to call them on Monday. They respond pretty quickly to phone calls, the mail system should probably be revamped a bit, as the response there is usually quite delayed.

    LS should remove those special characters from their text links

    There should be a ticketing system in place for support. At least with CJ you know they've gotten the inquiry even if it takes a few days to get an answer sometimes. Hopefully the new LS owners will improve the interface, make it easier to generate links, put a system in place to handle support and make the whole system easier to work with one of these days.

    I started a post regarding this very issue just last week. LS's support system is about the worst of all networks and they just don't seem to care. I'm hoping by post a seperate thread about this they will address it instead of ignoring it like they do in all the other threads.

    This has been an issue for years. I don't think they used to be in there, then one day they were added and despite numerous requests to fix the issue, no action.

    In my view the number 1 reason Linkshare sucks is the tracking!

    You will really see this is you track your own page views and link clicks.

    As an example on any given day when I compare the stats between my tracking and Linkshareís, it is not even close. If my stats show 500 page views for a page on which their link is placed, their stats will show something like 275 impressions for that link.
    Itís the same thing with clicks, if my stats show 50 clicks to that link, their stats will only show half that if Iím lucky.

    How many lost sales do you think are in there? Iím not sure but I bet itís enough to matter.

    I have the same problem with CJ, which is why Iím doing my best to migrate all of my links out of both networks and into indie programs. Itís just a slow process, but if the tracking really works it will be worth it.

    If they are not willing to fix the problems, why should we use their network?

    If your site has problems, do you fix them?
