    Using merchant logos
What's the scoop on this? Do I have to ask each merchant before using their logo?

My guess is, you can use the logo for presenting the merchant. It's probably ok as long as you don't try impersonating the said-merchant.

He won't probably mind if you give him "free" pub

I was thinking it'd be alright, since the links will obviously be taking you to each store, but it's worth asking.

Most of them provide their logo as one of their banners.

I can't think of any off the top of my head that don't provide a logo banner.

Some of the big boys were providing banners that include their logo, but it's connected to other stuff.

You need to take the time to read the TOS for the merchants concerned. Some do not allow you to use any of there logos are trademarks other than the ones that they provide specifically for your use. Check with the merchant. It is not worth losing your affiliateship if the merchant forbids it.

Of course, if you use it, it's only fair that the graphic be linked to the logo owner's site.

I can't think of any other use for them then that. I guess I could make some kooky site that sends Walmart clickers to JewelryTelevision and J.C.Whitney's to Cosmeticmall but I like money too much for that.

Well there are certainly enough folks out there who would not hesitate to use somebody else's logo to help their site to appear to be something it's not.

Sending Walmart clickers elsewhere may very well turn out to be a productive enterprise, though.
