Thumbs up AMC III - Miami or Chicago ?
    Hello team,

We are planning the next AMC Seminar. Many have suggested we move it closer to a central location in the US, Chicago comes to mind since we happen to have some close relationships there...

There are no hurricanes in Chi-town and we need another venue for AMC III during Hurricane season .... August 2006.

I would like to have your feedback...

Would many of you consider attending if held in a more central location?

We are also adjusting the price point and opening the opportunity to a more "diverse" group .....

As a midwesterner, I'd like to see it up this way at least once.

Whatever the outcome of the vote, Andy, thanks for considering this option.

I know it's a lot easier to host a seminar in your home location, but there are some definite advantages to having it elsewhere, especially during hurricane season.

It's great to hear that you're adjusting the price point to make it more widely available to merchants! I'd love to have hundreds of merchants who have learned from the master.

If we decide on Chicago, know that the quality, service and attention to our guests that has become the trademark with our seminar will not be sacrificed ...

we are already in talks with the Intercontinental - and it will be held here - http://chicago.intercontinental.com/

I was sooooo impressed by the customer service at the Intercontinental Miami. I thought that type of service was dead.

I would say fairly warm, probably 70's if not low 80's. I went up there last September, well actually about an hour west of there, and it was still quite warm then during the day (even for me being from the Gulf Coast).

But the nights were fairly cool (50ish).

I voted for the split. I was considering going this year, but decided against based on workload at the moment. If I had 2 choices next year, I would be more likely to attend (one of them...)

G man, Chi town is kind of central.....which is the goal plus we are partial to our Chicago network as 90% of our merchants are rocking on SAS..

Could also be Uno's downtown their whole place is graffitti and a little more well known than medici in Hyde Park....I used to live in Hyde Park..I used to live in just about every park nighborhood in Chicago.

I voted for Chicago BTW...although I'm in Ohio but come home to Chicago quite often since family is there. I'd love to make it to a seminar as long as I can afford it...

We are changing the dynamics and adjusting the price point accordingly. While we are not sacrificing quality, food or venue, we will make it very affordable for a 3 day seminar. What you learn as a merchant or affiliate will more than compensate the "investment" to attend.....

Just ask anyone that has attended the first two seminars...

    Nice to hear Andy

Since I have a place to stay and travel costs are minimal I'm sure I'll be making it ...I know the benefits far outway any cost.

Actually, if you go to Chicago you need to find a Portillo's and have one of their Italian Beef sandwiches (with mozzarella cheese). Makes me want one just thinking about it.

Not a whole lot of difference in travel costs for me from Cleveland, OH. Airfare to Miami was very reasonable and only about $100 more than Chicago. The timing is the main thing for me. August looks good so far.
