    Help with If and Else
Hi all - I know this is a pretty simple thing to do, but for some reason I can't figure it out.

I have an affiliate feed with fields like "Author" and "Format." Only some records have actual values in these, however. So what I want to do is only display the Author if it has one, for example. Or only display the Format if it has one - and to display nothing if the cell is empty.

What I can't figure out is the syntax for "is there anything in this cell?" - If so, display it.

    Make sense?

Assuming I'm understanding your question correctly:

    From the WM help examples:

    [WM-If: Field: Age <> ""]
This person is [WM-Field: Age] years old.

... The pair of double-quote marks with nothing inside them is how you indicate an empty field.

So the above will print out the indicated text and field contents if the Age field is not empty -- i.e., if there's something there.

By the way... Repent, Ticktockman! (I couldn't resist )

A burden shared is a burden lightened.

    Mike O -

Thanks a ton - that worked perfectly! I don't know why I didn't see that, I looked through the help files - maybe it was in a different place.

If you're feeling up for the challange, look at my other question

p.s. You're the first person to "get" my handle! Congrats!
