    Need me a product line...
I'd like to become a merchant. This should be easy right...?

I have my own servers, software licenses and SQL DB access, have great credit and friends in the merchant banking industry, have 9 years online marketing experience, 8 years affiliate marketing, 5 years affiliate program design, management, recruiting and consulting, have access to a fantastic new network I helped build, etc, etc, etc. All things considered, I'm ready to sell. All I'm missing is a product line...

In a perfect world I'd find something that hasn't saturated the web, but still has some modest demand, modest margins and reasonable shipping costs that I didn't have to pay a fortune for up-front and didn't have to warehouse.

A dropshipper makes some sense, but most of what I've seen sounds like MLM junk. Pay us $24.95 a month and we'll let you sell our off-brand schlock! Gee whiz, how exciting... Contacting manufacturers directly hasn't been all that productive either.

I guess I'm looking for ideas from some of you merchants. How did you end up selling what you sell?

Is there any particular variety of product you're fond of?

Whatever you do, don't sell widgets. It's a tough keyword to compete for...

    Not even blue widgets...?

Honestly I'm not all that picky about product line. As an affiliate I've promoted a ton of different things with some success. I'd get more excited about something I personally enjoy or use, and would like to stear clear of things you see advertised on late night infomercials or in as seen on tv shops, but I'd consider most any quality product.
