Here's something you all might want to look into...getting a real - MBA in Internet Marketing.

Here's the deal, you can buy one. And it's real. Now all you naysayers can crump about it, but I know hundreds of people teaching business at major schools and not one has a clue about internet marketing much less knows what it's about or how to teach it.

Everyone here who gets a check every month has in real terms more knowledge than necessary to qualify for such a degree and more knowledge than most MBA's or Business Professors.

So go get one, or at least read all about how. Is it worth it? Well, you can plug it into your resume and see or use it to get jobs since a degree at least get's you in the door and a competitive advantage.
http://wetrack.it/instantdegrees/af.cgi?28

Who knows more about Internet Marketing than people who do it for a living. Not some fool making chump change teaching business in the
world of academia.

So get the MBA in Internet Marketing. I think it has merit to get one and go from there.

I have felt for some time that you are lower than pond-scum Frederick. Now, I know it to be true.

Am I missing something, or is a resume completely pointless? Why would anyone want to teach this stuff when we can do it, or do it for anyone else when we can do it for ourselves?

Not that I'm an expert in working for a living.

Ah, I was just getting hungry and here's a slice of right here!

As for the ad itself, successful internet marketers are not in the job market (except for a few flukes like Jada), so I really think you are aiming this ad in the wrong spot, Fred. And it sounds like even Jada's smelling the winds of freedom wafting into her cubicle...

"Instant degrees" being in the URL also doesn't exactly reek of credibility! I could print up an Instant Degree right here, for the cost of a fraction of a cart's worth of printer ink and a piece of paper, lol!

Hey Haiko can I cange my handle to Pond Scum?

Actually, I already have a Ph'd in Anthropology. And I didn't buy it.

So, I was checking with some major schools about getting an MBA. They wanted me to take
more shit courses and jump thru more stupid hoops than Donnie could negotiate.

What a waste of time. And NOT ONE of their professors had ever made a web page, done anything resembling marketing online, etc.

With a few exceptions a degree is just a filter to get you in the door. When you apply for a job, the HR guys put the degree resumnes in one pile and the non degree ones in another. They then throw out the non-degree ones. Then they sort the degree ones into BA, MA and PH'd. They check the Ph'd to see if they have any real gems and if not they throw them all out. They then do the same with MA if it's a more than entry level position. If it's a lower level deal they go to the BA's and sort.

That's what a degree means. In fact I was watching a great interview with Jack Welch on C-spam (I weird) and he said he started out hiring based on 'credentials.' Today, he hires based on the persons passion and focus.
And then he trains them.

Leader missed the point which is that according to SpongeBo "most affiliate programs suck so hard they have their own gravitational field."

But who is going to hire a 'master gardener' to tell XYZ company how to make a ton of money in e-commerce. If she had a MBA in Internet Marketing, she could get $1,000 to $5,000 per day as a consultant to tell the fools how to do it right - because she does do it right.

There are almost as many companies that would pay to learn how as their are affiliates on Snare, CJ and BeScrewed combined. K-mart and Walmart spent over $100 million combined dollars to do it wrong the first time around. Bet they would have been more than willing to pay Leader $100K to tell them how to do it before blowing the $100 million.

Looks like good business to me.

But hey you can all listen to the Greek Chorus of Donnie, Dave, Austin And Gordon as they sing along with Mitch on the no one cares anymore channel.

Dave,

No ... what "I" mean is that what you posted was disgustingly LOW! ..... So much so that I was infuriated by the post myself!

I don't see you posting such crap on the other forums, or yours ... so why start here?

Fred,

A consulting job may be all well and good...but it's still a JOB! Glorified as all get out, but as long as there's someone else to report to, it still qualifies as a "job". I'd rather make that $5k/day or 100k/year sitting here in my robe.

I'll keep on with the typing of sites...

{Hmm, looks like I missed something above while I was writing this...}

Dave,

Wow Dave!

That last shred I had just went out the window ... and so do you!

I respected you ... I really did! Way back on CJ ... and on your boards as well!

But ... you have proved your true self here unfortunately! ... Continue to Fake it on the other Boards.

And since your board is "handled more professionally" I guess that means that I shouldn't log on there and make an @ss out of myself like you have!

I have the PM and subsequent emails also .... I asked you to tone it down a notch .... and I'll even let your last post on this board be the PM and mail ... I DON'T stand down or RUN from the TRUTH or my WORD!

Mellow out guys...

Once again, we have let something Fred Conquest posted degenerate the board. Haiko, he dumps spam on here, just as he did over at CJ. I started the stuff on here because I have seen how much damage folks like Fred have done to this industry. I apologize to you Haiko for that - not to Fred though, as he is as unscrupulous a businessperson as I have ever seen.

Don,

Fred's posts are Fred's posts ... I have even gotten a few concepts from them!

I did PM Dave ... and asked him to take it easy on Fred .. for I don't want flames on here ... and the only ones, todate, on ABW were his towards Fred.

Dave has a great board and from his posts on other boards I see great knowledge, I only wished he shared such with our members, instead of Flaming Fred! It appears, from Dave's prior post (in this thread), that we are sooooo unbefitting of such!

That disappoints me!

Haiko
PS. Daves Post WAS way out of line!

Hmmm, my brother must be "some fool making chump change teaching business in the
world of academia." He is a professor (a real one) teaching internet marketing at a major university back east. He actually makes a pretty good living (and only works 4 days a week). I don't teach the subject. I just do it, baut I do make more money than he does

That's what I am talking about Hereshy.

Academia has it's own agenda. You DO IT, they
don't, yet they have the so called official certification called a degree and they think they know what they are doing.

With a few exceptions teaching positions at almost any college or university is chump change. A few weeks ago there was a blurb in the Chronicle of Higher Education where some guy with a Ph'd got hired at a 4 year school as an Assistant Professor and still qualified for welfare and food stamps.

Your brother has the degree, so he could if he wanted to ask some company to pay for his advice concerning Internet Marketing and he might get the job.

You, on the other hand, who make real money actually doing Internet Marketing would probably would not even get considered for a job.

And like Leader says - it's a job to consult.
But you do get to pick and choose when and where and for how much.

True, he and I have had numerous discussions about internet marketing, and we rarely agree. He has a PhD and teaches theory, and when I try to explain that a lot of what he is teaching those kids is bullhockey, we end up in a fight. Unfortunately, I can't beat him up anymore

So, he's on the theoretical side of it, and I am on the practical, real-world side of it. He gets to sit in an ivy-covered office, and I get to work in my pjs, so I'd say we're both happy. But you are right, because he has the credentials, he'd get a consulting job before I would. Now, if I had the degree (oy, more school) COMBINED with my practical experience, then they'd hire me!

Yes, a degree helps to get a corporate job. The "degree program" that is the subject of this thread, however? pfttt. If it helped, you'd be working for idiots and it's easy enough to get a job working for idiots -- you don't need a phony degree.

I lived in the web of Corporate America (and did WELL in it) -- if anyone believes the crap Fred has posted about how such a degree can help you, well, I have this bridge in Arizona I'm looking to sell so PM me.

And my deal will be just as ethical as Fred's.

Wow Fred you gave me a great idea. Make an E-Book and charge say $495.00 to make it look real, you know an "ONLINE EDUCATION." When they finish the course give them the degree for a small processing fee and if the "DEGREE Site" has an affiliate program then I would clean up. What should I call it, Oh yeah, the Alan Parsons Project.

Just make sure your tracking is turned on when you sell the bridge...wouldn't want another one to slip through the cracks (but we could live with a reversal)<IMG src=http://www.abestweb.com/ubb/icons/icon15.gif>
