My stats at CJ tell me I had 2500 impressions
yesterday with 4 hits. My counter tell me I had 9 visitors. Which is correct? Alsu has anyone heard from Big Chuck from the coupon guy?

I'm pretty sure the impressions come from a random number generator. Hits seem to track OK though.

Counters and page-load tracking systems are notoriously error-prone (for example, the one on ABW hangs on EVERY page load for me, I just hit the stop button and it RARELY loads), so I wouldn't put too much stock in that.

And 9 visitors could result in 2500 impressions -- dependent on how many ads you have per page and how many pages those visitors visited (it's a bit far-fetched, but it could happen).

Personally, I'd trust the CJ stats over a counter every day of the week.

All of them.

To be more precise, the numbers are rolled up with the information that the software has available to it, so all of them would be correct.

CJ hits seem to be recorded fairly accurately, although the impressions can be so far off it isn't funny. That could be caused by quick clicking or Net latency, so we use these numbers as a guideline at best.

For our own purposes, we have software that uses our server log files, and we rely more on that than anyone else's numbers.

The only number that is Absolutely, Positively, Guaranteed correct is the number on the check when we cash it.

That's the only number that's important anyway!
