Not sure if its just a dodgy AOL connection but I got bumped off last night around 10pm UK time whilst checking through the ABW boards - not sure which topic or page number withing the topic it was as I usually open multiple ones at the same time & read one whilst the others are loading.

Actually thinking about it my modem did some really weird stuff after I got bumped - kept turning itself on, squeaking for a few seconds, then turning itself off again - happened about 4 times before it gave up & stopped....never had that happen before....how'd you do that Haiko? Clever!...annoying but clever

lol, hope this does not post twice, I hit the wrong key, sorry.

Anyway, what I was saying is that I have a dial up and AOL. It hasn't happened to me in ABW but sometimes it does other places. Usually if I have been on a long time.

What I do to "fix it" is to sign off, clear out my temp files and then sign back on. So far, that has worked every time.

Happened again tonight - going thru abw & got bumped off. Had to totally restart my pc too as everything froze. Had only been online for about an hour so don't think it was an AOL timeout as AOL currently seems to give 5 hours before timing out as far as I can tell, and it wouldn't have been a disconnection for inactivity as I run a prog to keep me active.

Intrigued to know what's happening?

BTW specs are:

opera browser version 6
200Mhz pc with windows 95 (stop laughing!)
33.6 kbs modem (stoppit!)
AOL version 5 (grrr!)

Pranav,

I suggest that you and your fellow Indians agree on a date prior to your getting your new internet connection ... see:
