Probably the most common CJ question...
I'm sure this has been asked a million times before, however I'm asking it again to make sure the answer I get is, ya know, current.

The 1x1 pixel image in the code... what's the deal? Are we allowed to remove it? Will bad things happen? Will everything be fine and normal (except for the tracking of impressions, of course)? Have you removed it? Do you have any reason to advice against removing it?

Basically any thoughts, experiences, problems, etc. involving the removal of the 1x1 pixel image are welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

Removal has zero effect on anything other than tracking impressions.

So... it would be safe/legal/acceptable/good/normal/perfectly fine to remove it?

Nobody is going to hassle you for removing the pixel.

I haven't used tracking pixels for the seven years that I've been in the business. No problems.

I'm not using tracking pixels for about a year now. Everything is normal.

And it's probably not the most common CJ question... I'm thinking that "When will I get my first payment" ranks near the top =)

...folloed closely by "When will I get my NEXT CJ check". Those not in the gunsights of the clickstream data mining apps should get one every month thereafter.

Cool, thanks for the replies everyone.

Another quick newbie question while I'm at it... how long does it normally take for an application to get reviewed? I've had 2 or 3 "pending" for a few days now.

    Thanks again.

Now that's a funny question. I don't know what the record is, but it must be going on years that some people have applications pending. Best bet is to contact the advertiser on its status since they'll appreciate the initiative anyway.

Also . . . Double check to make sure your sites are up and running and viewable by the merchant. Sounds basic, but we get many applications for sites that either lead to a "Parked Domain" or "In Construction" message. I usually give these guys a few days or so before I decline.

If you can find a phone number for the merchant, give them a call to see what's up. They should be more than happy to discuss.

    Good luck,
