    Angry DataFeed HELP!
Is there anyway to fix the description fields in the datafeeds?

Most of (Almost ALL) datafeeds have this problem.

What I need to do is import them into MS-Excel. So I first replace the YOURUSERID with my ID# - Then I replace all of the | with tabs, then import the Tab delimited file into Excel.

This is where the problem occurs. The description field is cut off. I was assuming it was a character limit in Excel but the fields do not all get cut off with the same character length.

    Here is an example:

When I import a | (pipe delimited) datafeed into Excel I have no problems with the fields, and after I finish with that | (pipe delimited) datafeed, I have saved the file as pipe, csv and tab, with no problem, and those files work.

I just counted 249 characters on that example.

I have not encounter that specific problem with any datafeed that I have used from SAS, so I will guess that if you always get that same amount of characters on most all the feeds you're using, maybe you have some 250 characters limit set up somewhere, and that may be the cause of it.

    Thumbs down Nope
    Hi Mr. Sal:

Nope no place to change char limits. Not all fields are cut of at the same character length. Some import more before cutting off.

Tried numerous ways of importing with the same results.

Try importing first... import with the pipe (|) as the delimeter... and then you can do a find replace.
