How long has the site been down. Really kills the loading of a webpage.

I haven't seen any problems. Problems that I had a few days ago were ISP problems, not GC problems. As far as I can tell, there has been no interruption of GC service.

We apologize for the inconvenience. The service was down last night for about 5 minutes.

Must a webmaster pay a fee in order to use GoldenCan?

No fee.. but there is a list of merchants that you get all the traffic from clicks thrus, and others that you agree to giving golden can every 4th click thru to use. The free ones have a red star in the list when you go to create the store. I like the use of golden can, and this has been the only problem Ive encountered in the time I've used it.

It was down for longer than 5 minutes for me, but was up the next time I checked, about an hour later.

Rhia, you asked that question in the thread below. It's all on the site, just have to read it:

Not here either but I always add regular banner, PSC, and text link pre-sell displays on all GC pages. Look a little barren but still renders page.

Mines working OK. I wasn't around earlier so I don't know if mine was down several times today or not.

We appologize for the inconvenience. We are in the process of making some upgrades which required some unexpected server reboots and down times. We are working fast to resolve the issue ASAP and expect not to have this problem again.

I was wondering what was up as Google, Yahoo and MSN dropped all my GC pages. I have about 200 words of text on each page, so at least part of the page renders, whether GC is up or not.

JoyUnltd - Pages that have Goldencan on them have been dropped from the major search engines? Is this true?
Anyone else seeing pages dropped due to GC?

We have not seen anything like this. We have many GoldenCAN users who are ranked in top 10 results in major search engines for their GoldenCAN Pages.

I had a similar situation a week or so ago. It turned out to be an ISP problem, not a GC problem. We did some tweaking with my cable modem and things returned to normal. I also removed adsense from affected pages.

This was just my experience..............not a rule of law.

I didn't say that the majors are dropping them, just that it happened to me, when they were ranking before.

Oops, sorry! Asif, didn't see your reply before I posted.

Hoping this is just one of those quirky things that will straighten itself out in the next few weeks (or sooner!)

Actually, found the answer here: http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum30/34055-1-10.htm

I probably had too similar content on a page. I have one GC merchant listed with different pages for sub-categories under a larger category, but will have to add more unique content to each page. Also noticed that only Google dropped some 2nd tier pages, so there's an indexing issue with Google.

Am relieved that there's no GC issues, sorry if I caused any concern!
