    terrible day today
I'm at about 1% of my usual adsense earnings today. Is it a fluke? I haven't seen anyone else complaining... My earnings are small enough that it could be random, I suppose.

If you are not too diversified, this could just be a random thing. If you have a bunch of different sites with lots of different content areas, then a severe drop indicates something more significant. If your impressions are not down, then there is nothing to worry about.

I'm afraid google is doing the Curly Shuffle. The results seem a little wacko for the past few days.

This site is where I go to check the different Datacenters and how they are fluctuating in Google...(added spaces in url)

Just type in your keyword and then check over the different DCs.

    did some checking.

there is movement in google results but overall it has minimal effect on my traffic.

adsense clicks and earnings are minimally, if at all, affected.

however, adsense impressions are down big time.

google may have tinkered with adsense impression counting.

Could just be a tracking bug. I've seen plenty of those in the past. Google usually makes an adjustment later, although to be honest I've not seen a drop that big.

My impressions are down by only a little. But the number of clicks and the pay per click are both down a lot. I finished yesterday at about 20% of my usual, and today looks to be about the same.

I'm small enough for this to be within the normal randomness, I'm sure. Not gonna worry about it.

Ditto here, and it's got nothing to do with getting hit in the short-hairs by Google.

Bait & Switch by Google Adsense?
John Scott contributes to a blog entitled V7N Search Marketing News and suggests in an entry entitled

Adsense is Evil that Google's Adsense was a ruse to gain the goodwill of webmasters and more importantly to capture a monopoly on the ad space market.

According to the entry, the monopoly enables Google to lower the per-click payout to such a low rate that a question is raised: is it or will it continue to be worth it?

His entry makes sense; it's an interesting analysis.

One day I am #1 the next day I am on page 50.. the next day I am #1 again... it's all messed up at Goofle... and yes I meant to spell it with an F........

The G coaster is a wild ride, its just like a drug addict, up one day down the next. We all ride the G coaster and battle the ups and downs while we struggle with the addiction to the dance.

Enjoy your ride on the G coaster even though you will have no idea when your ride will end, or where you will be at the end of the ride. What we really need is a G SEO navigation system.

My days with Adsense are usually at one extreme or the other. I'll have 1 or 2 days with almost nothing (sometimes less than $1) and then the next day will set a new record. Apparently there's something in that script that reports my thoughts back to the big G because every time I have 2 "nothing days" in a row and am about to pull all ads and replace them with something else, I have one of those big days.

I haven't noticed a dip in Adsense at all. It's been pretty consistent for me.

At least now AdSense has some competition at Yahoo. I do slightly better with YPN so I suggest giving them a try instead. If Google reduces their pay too much they'll lose their publishers to Yahoo, so I don't think it's in their best interest to lower AdSense payouts.

Rhia7, EVERY...SINGLE...TIME there is an Adsense thread, there you are - posting something negative that you found that someone else said. Every single time -without FAIL! Not one thought that's yours about it, because you have no thoughts about it.

What business do you have injecting negativity in threads where people who actually DO Adsense are posting and sharing? I call that a rude intrusion into other people's business (and conversation) when you know absolutely nothing about their business, nothing at all about what they're sharing.

You've been doing this for months now - in every single Adsense thread - and have refused to stop, even when people expressed their feelings about it. And you still haven't put even one ad up, not even one.

Just about every person who started with Adsense did it on sites they already had, and just used the ads that fit. So I don't think we need to hear that you need to "redesign" your sites first, before you give it a try. I don't think anyone is buying into that.

However, once you actually DO, if you EVER do, then would be the time to share your own opinion and experience with others. Meantime, we all know how to find things out on the net, we don't need to be spoon-fed crap that we can find ourselves. I for one am getting pretty fed up with the thread-killing intrusions. When people are sharing their own personal experience, injection of third party hearsay by someone who has no experience to share is off-topic and rude.
