When sales do not get tracked, the "publisher" is a victim of fraud.

So...

When a particular merchant's sales are not being tracked, how do we determine whether it is the merchant's fault or CJ's?

There in lies the quest of all our kind . . . is it this guy or that guy? And when you can point at one, the other points back at the other creating a total vacuum of sorts . . . which brought you here to question the gods to sort this out.

Is the merchant at fault? The network? Or both working in cahoots to befaddle us all?

My guess is that it all happens. But I'm not here to kick up the mud. I'm just saying that I've seen some nasty things since 1996 that could only lead to ONE thing . . . YOUR guess is a s good as the next guys' and we all just might be at the hands of . . .

Send info to CJ via "ask a question" and we will look into it. Include as much specifics as possible.

Related to this very issue, how does a merchant proceed if he thinks an affiliate is generating fraudulent orders?

Todd,

I'd be more than happy to add a link to the "ask a question" feature of CJ ... on the CJ forums, just send me the code and I'll make it happen.

Haiko,

Thanks for the offer but you would need to be logged into your account for it to work. This way it ties into the account history.

OK, Thanks Todd.

BTW, for the particular merchant that I have in mind, it is not a case of "a" sale did not get tracked, or "my" sales did not get tracked; no sales are being tracked for this merchant at all, network-wide. So it is a very serious matter. This is a pretty strong indicator that there is either wrongdoing or very bad mistake.

I am hoping  that it is something can can be resolved amenably.

Thanks again Todd.

BluesX,

On the bottom of the publisher detail page is a link to notify CJ of concerns regarding individual publisher behavior.

How does one navigate to the publisher detail page?

Well it would save you a thousands more of the same question if you just add the very same link under the advertiser detail.

okay here's how things work.

Every time you get a transactions, CJ is receiving money from that merchant.

SO CJ is doing his best to track everything. THEY DONT CHEAT YOU! They are to big to do that.

And if they do it they are loosing!

>>THEY DONT CHEAT YOU! They are to big to do that.<<

lol... "too big to cheat" is not an argument that will carry much weight in the US at... not at this particular juncture.

(That observation, however, is NOT to suggest that CJ is cheating.)

FRAUD!
http://www.abestweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/...&f=17&t=001429

The merchant says that "CJ knows about this"

The merchant know that sales are not tracking, CJ know that sales are not tracking.......

Affiliates are being defrauded of their commissions on all sales.

These things happens. Today I've got the same amount of traffic and 10 times less transactions.

Unfortunatly there is almost nothing we can do about it.

Todd try and explain the fraud eCost and eHobbies pulls on CJ affiliates. They refuse to respond to challenges of bad sales tracking at eHobbies plus HUGE reversals for no legit reason on both of these affiliate abusers. I sent e-mails recently to eHobbies and one samll sale shows up on the 20th at 4:30PM ..it was then reversed at 5:34PM the same day. eCost has reversed 18,900 of my sales since last Christmas shopping season (All sales above 500.00) with the reason "other" and refuses to answer e-mails. They even have the nerve to advertise items @wholesale cost priced at retail and pay only 1%. They both should investigated and run off your network for fraud.

stats: earnings sales leads clicks impressions etc etc
eCOST.com $24.15 6 0 1,025 211,494 0.005 $0.11 0.006 $2.36
eHobbies.com $22.23 2 0 2,469 206,355 0.012 $0.11 0.001 $0.90
