A list of "good" merchants anywhere?
Is there a compiled listing of the good merchants somewhere? Wonder if I missed it...

    Thanks!

    You mean parasite free?

Don't think so. Hard list to maintain, plus affiliates disagree on what other affiliates are parasitic. You can visit the affiliates you think are parasitic, they usually have merchant lists you can take a look at.

None that I know of, but there is a list of bad merchants. Here: http://www.affiliatefairplay.com/merchant_list.html (at least you'll know who to stay away from)...

The only people I've seen that can't seem to agree on what parasites are:

    1) Parasites.
    2) Most networks.

Here's the biggest list of non-Parasitic merchants that I know of:

"None that I know of, but there is a list of bad merchants. Here: "

Actually those are affiliates and from the site:

"However, AFP will not be publishing any type of "clean" list of Merchants or "blacklist" of Merchants. "

"The only people I've seen that can't seem to agree on what parasites are:

    1) Paraistes.
    2) Most networks."

Affiliates too, read the Upromise forum.

Wow, step away for a little while and the posts pour in!

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm starting to expand a bit, and absolutely do not want the headaches that parasites seem to always offer.

The only people I've seen that can't seem to agree on what parasites are:

    1) Parasites.
That struck me as pretty funny. In fact, I'd be willing to bet most parasitic programs think their doing the world a favor, or that THEIR program isn't doing anything wrong. pfft. stealing is stealing. The ability for the human mind to lie to itself is so incredible sometimes...

    Thanks again!

    Not going to happen:

    "That list isn't updated anymore"

"Maybe we can put together a list and get Haiko to remove the bad ones."

    Do you consider Upromise bad?

Thanks for the responses. The reason I was asking about this list, is b/c the forum description makes it sound like there are "plethora" of clean merchants in here to reference. However, it looks more like an extension of the parasite debate, or more posts about the bad ones. Make sense?

I do see a couple of merchants that look to be good to work with. And yes, Shareasale is something I will be joining within the next day or two. My understanding is that they are the best out there for providing parasite-free merchants.

If you guys come up with the ultimate white-list though, let me know!

    Thanks again Trust!

By the way, are the links to Shareasale on AWB affiliate links? I figure if I'm going to sign up, I can make someone a buck or two.

What exactly are you asking? Second-tier sign-ups to programs?

Hey Geno. Yeah, figured Shareasale had some kind of signup referal program. Just wondering. Suppose I can give back to ABW a bit (since I've learned so much)

MB, it would have nothing to do with SaS, but rather with the way a merchant has their account set up. Some affiliate programs pay a referral bounty, others don't. This information would be in each program's description at SaS.
