If you are trying to help the SEO for an existing site is it better to attach the blog to that domain or another domain that I own?
Second do most affiliates post anonymously or do they give their name?

I usually place the blog right inside the domain, and that seems to work well for SEO purposes.
Showing a name is good for building up a readership, but you don't have to use your real name if you're not comfortable with that - you can always use a pseudonym or a nickname.
