    What Percentage Of Your Visitors Have Javascript Disabled
    If a mod can make this into a poll, that would be great, don't know how.

    How about this for a lineup

    less than 1%
    1 - 3%
    4 - 6%
    7 - 9%
    Over 10%

    Since there is talk about this, I would like to see some actual percentages from people checking their own stats.

    CJ says less than 1%
    Billy posted a screenshot of 15%
    I have over 9% for my main site
    A merchant posted over 3%
    w3school said 10%

    I made it a Poll. Scroll up if you haven't responded yet. I added an "I don't know" options so that guesses don't skew the numbers. Please only vote if you know.

    Two concerns I have with this poll (and JavaScript disabled numbers in general):

    1) Bots don't use JavaScript, so make sure the stats program you're using count bots.

    2) Many of us aren't running stats programs that track this. Does anyone know an easy way to check?

    I think something like this might work:

    <script type = "text/javascript"><!--
    document.write('<img src="/log.gif?js" width=1 height=1>');
    --></script><noscript><img src="/log.gif?nojs" width=1 height=1></noscript>

    Then compare the number of unique IP addresses requesting log.gif?js and log.gif?nojs. Bots shouldn't load either (because most ignore images and JavaScript) but real users should load one or the other.

    I added the code to two of my sites, and have two observations based on the preliminary results:

    1) Some bots do load images, so make sure to manually review the logs and back those numbers out.

    2) My preliminary numbers are far higher than CJ's 1%. It looks like it's going to be between 10% and 20% for me, but I'll need some more data to have a more definitive number.

    I run AWstats and Google Analytics but don't see JavaScript stats in either. Am I missing something?

    I have enough data now that I think it's statistically accurate. All of my sites have a minimum of 15% of visitors with JavaScript disabled. One is over 20%.

    This is absolutely unbelievable. It even worse than I thought. (And where in the world did CJ get the "less than 1%" number!!!!!)

    Not only does this put CJ's LMI in a bad light, but it makes some of my own planned site enhancements far less appealing. I was planning on adding some AJAX navagation tools, but if those are only going to work for 80% of my visitors, I'll need to rethink how I do that so I don't leave the other 20% out in the dark.

    I mentioned a few in my first post and this is the weekend so we'll get some more responses throughout the week. But like I said my main site is over 9% disabled, my second "main site" isn't as bad just a tad under 6%. But I'm not seeing this less than 1% they're talking about. Besides affiliates, would also like to see some affiliate managers post some info if they can get those stats.

    I'm Googling for stats and don't see less than 1% anywhere:

    It's 3 years old but says 13% disabled.

    Looking for some more current stuff.

    A more current one only has 3% disabled:

    I entered "turn off javascript" in Google with the quotes, and got a lot of javascript negative results. 1% just can't be.

    .......thanks for starting this poll, since it prompted me to look at my stats and found 4% disabled.
