    Thumbs up Dance baby dance
    The Google Dance

Many of you will already be familiar with the Google dance. If you havent a clue what I am talking about then please go and read this article: Google Dance

Over the past 6 or 7 weeks there have been some major changes on certain datacentres. Some of the results on these DCs have been very interesting to say the least.

So why is this of any interest to you?

We dont actually know if the new results will propagate across all of the datacentres, if they do then your current SERPS may be about to radically change. For some of you this could be great news, for others it may be terrible, but it is worth keeping an eye on.

To see the results you will need to use the Mcdar keyword tool

Here is a simple way to see if these new results could have any effect on your future SERPS.

Step 1: go to google.com and type in one of your main keywords. Make a note of your exact position and then try the search again using this datacentre: 64.233.161.107

    notice any difference?

If you see a big difference then it may be worth keeping an eye on the 56 datacentres from Google. Currently the new results are on approx 18 of the 56 datacentres. I should point out that at this moment in time we dont know exactly how important this new information is. There are no guarantees that we will EVER see the new results on all of the live searches, and some experts also believe that a filter MAY be missing on the new results.

Personally I would get 3 or 4 times as much traffic if the new results propagate to all the live datacentres. So all I can do is monitor the results and keep my fingers crossed.

If you have any questions then feel free to ask.

Didn't the dance stop in 2004? This is a state of everflux; the dance is over.

    Very true.

It has been a long day

The everflux seems to have been in full flow ever since Big Daddy. This basically means that as opposed to an update every couple of months Google is infact updating on a constant basis.

My points remain valid though. Just used the wrong word (again)

We do quote or point to a blog from inside Google, though. The link is somewhere in this forum area.

unfortunately, each datacenter seems to have a slightly different index file to go by when delivering results. Big Daddy is supposed to cure that but mileage still varies.

Ok, i will get the ball rolling then.

Does anyone feel that the results shown on these datacentres will propagate anytime soon? If so, do you feel that a filter or filters are missing from these sets of results?

    Thanks

Dean, stick to what you know. I googled your name with the word affiliate and know most of what you're posting isn't actually from "you"

Seriously, just be yourself. I can link to a forum where you said you had no clue about SEO.

I was dubious, but I checked... I do see some strange (good!) results propagating. Either one of my best new sites is being un-penalized or they are turning down some filters (ie, irrelevant backlinks). I definitely see some movement... while the 'dance' metaphor is outdated, they do appear to be twiddling some knobs.

If mcdar goes down, I have a datacentre checker here as well: http://kzay.com

You know even when their was a Google Dance, it was every month near the end of it not every 2 months. You can search the forums here from past years. It was fun time Everybody waiting, checking their Google dance tools. It was official when the Yahoo backlinks changed.

    Couple of past dance threads:
