    Custom index page naming
I don't believe this is currently possible, but if not it would be a great feature:

I want to use predefined names for index pages, and tell Webmerge to give those names in sequence.

Example. I'm selling three categories of goods - good, better, best. I tell Webmerge to make a new index each time the category changes, giving me three index pages. But instead of them being

    index001.htm for the "good",
    index002.htm for the "better",
    index003.htm for the "best"

I'd like the arrangement to be

    communism.htm for the "good",
    capitalism.htm for the "better",
    alcoholism.htm for the "best"

    Does that make sense?

Yeeha! Some people should affiliate themselves with a company that sells Sense of Humor. And learn all about that product!

PS - Jay Leno fans might recall the reference.

    PSPS- What about the idea?

    Question
you only have three index page names to contend with -- why not just rename them after the process?

    Hey Herb,

That was just an example. Besides, I'd prefer that this, as other things, be something setup-able in WM. Adding more steps after the merge isn't convenient. URL names help w/SEO, so I'd like that option.

As a matter of fact, the function of making the index names based on a specific fields content would be fine if you could use that to generate a new index page whenever the field value changes. As of now, the only way to generate multiple indexes is with sequential page naming.

EG: As long as field "color" remains "blue," everything goes to blue.htm. When it becomes "ochre," a new index is generated called "ochre.htm".

    That is my feature suggestion.

I think that would be a good feature also.

You can name pages from field content, which allows you to create names however you like.
